
Inner Child Healing Meditation

Join me for an exploration of your inner world to meet your inner child; the little you. We all have an inner child, and through this meditation, you can reconnect with them to understand what they felt, and how that has shown up in your life along the way. By reconnecting, and bringing it to awareness, we can all begin to heal our wounds from long, long ago.

Hello and welcome.
Welcome to this space here.
The space where we exist together.
My voice and my heart.
Your being.
Your now.
Your heart.
Go ahead and get comfortable in any way that feels good for you.
I know that often with meditation we invite you to sit on the floor and feel connected with the ground.
To sit cross-legged.
To open up the energy channels through the hips.
But today,
Today is different.
Today is an invitation for you to connect with your inner child.
So we're creating a space within our body that feels comfort,
Safety and security.
Maybe you'd like to bring in a blanket or a cozy jumper.
Or throw on some socks.
Even hold a cushion close by to your body.
Whatever you need to feel comfort,
Safety and security,
Find that now.
Your exploration today will take place in your unconscious mind.
So there's nothing to worry about should your conscious mind begin to wander.
In fact,
See if you can allow it to wander and wander as it plays with thoughts and ideas away far from this moment now.
Watch your conscious mind dance away with its thoughts into the far away distance,
Becoming smaller and smaller until you can't even see it any longer.
It's just you now.
Just you and your physical body.
Your beautiful vessel that carries you through life.
And I know that as we begin to move deeper into this work and progressively relax your body,
You're going to feel even more relaxed and even more open to possibilities.
And I know you're wondering what you might get out of this meditation.
Because if you're wondering,
Then that means you're already opening up to the healing possibilities that your inner child will show you.
In your comfortable,
Safe and secure space now,
I want you now to take a moment and shift your body in any way you need to add even more comfort,
Even more safety and even more security to yourself.
That's right.
You're ready to explore.
Focus your attention on your heart center.
Feel every movement,
Every beat.
Now imagine filling up your heart with a beautiful light.
Whatever color works for you is perfect.
Each beat is filling up your heart even more and even more and even more.
So much so that your heart is overflowing with this beautiful light.
This light represents the essence of you.
It's you in the purest form.
It's love.
I wonder how your heart feels knowing it's overflowing with love.
Sit with that for a moment.
You are pure love and now is the time to relax your whole body with love.
Relaxation travels in the form of that light from your heart's overflow,
Up and into the left upper arm,
Down the arm to the elbow,
The forearm,
The wrist,
The palm of the hand spreading through each and every finger so relaxed now.
Your left arm is so relaxed it melts into the comfort of the space around you.
Now the light travels from your heart's overflow to the right arm,
Down the upper arm to the elbow,
Completely relaxing the elbow so relaxed now to the forearm,
The wrist,
The palm of the hand and spreading through the fingers right up to the fingertips so deeply relaxed,
Heavy,
Safe,
Comfortable.
The light moves and beams to the crown of the head,
Relaxing the crown of the head and the forehead,
All the tension and tiny little frown lines melt away,
The cheeks,
The ears,
The eyebrows and the eyelids completely relaxed.
The jawbone loosens,
The mouth,
The corners of the mouth are so relaxed,
The chin and the neck coming down over the shoulders and resting there for a moment while the light removes any tension from the day and brings a lightness and a relaxation to the shoulders.
You've never felt this relaxed before.
Moving down the spinal column now,
The light,
Your own overflow of love,
Warms all the muscles of your back and spreads relaxation through each and every rib,
Moving around the body from the start of the rib at the spine all the way around the sides and to the front of the body where they meet again.
So relaxed,
Deep relaxation is here,
You are so deeply relaxed now.
You're going to relax the rest of your body now but first,
Place your attention back to your heart.
Notice the overflow of light,
Of love,
Your essence.
Notice how it's continually in overflow,
Never ending,
An endless supply.
You have an endless supply of love because you are love.
Feel into that,
Into that knowing that you are love.
Your overflow of light moves down to your lower back and to your hips,
Moving through each joint,
Tendon,
Bone and muscle,
Relaxing each and every part,
Down the left leg,
Across the thigh and around the back to the glute,
Down to the back of the knee,
Around to the front of the knee,
Wrapping around the calf and shin so much relaxation,
So relaxed now.
The ankle,
The heel,
The sole of the foot and each and every toe just feels more and more relaxed.
The right leg now over the front of the thing.
The right leg now over the front of the thigh and wrapping around the back,
To the back of the knee and spiraling around to the front,
Down the shin,
The calf,
The ankle,
The heel,
The sole of the foot.
And the light moves now to each and every toe so that every part of your physical body is so relaxed,
So at peace,
So in comfort,
Safe.
You're now prepared for your exploration of your unconscious mind.
Bring your awareness to your mind's eye.
You can only do this right because whatever your mind's eye shows for you is exactly right.
In your mind's eye,
Go back to a time when you were very young,
A time before you were five years old.
It can be a specific time if that's what your unconscious shows or maybe you're not sure and what you're shown doesn't make sense.
Either is just right.
We don't need to make logical sense of our exploration.
What shows is exactly right.
You can only do this right.
Go back to that time now.
If you haven't already,
Bring a picture or a movie to your mind's eye of that specific time.
I want you to see yourself,
Your inner child in that picture.
That is you in all your innocence and purity,
Your child,
Your inner child.
Take a note on what's happening in the picture.
Is your inner child alone or are there other people there?
What's your inner child wearing?
What are they doing?
Are they smiling?
Are they upset?
Take in all the details of the picture or movie that's in your mind's eye.
Take in all the details.
You walk over to your inner child and say hello with a warm smile.
You ask permission to speak with them.
If permission is granted,
You can sit down next to them.
You say thank you for sitting with me today,
Inner child.
I'm here to get to know you.
I want to listen to everything you have to say.
You are safe and you can talk to me.
I am you.
Ask how are you today,
My inner child,
And listen to what they have to say.
Ask how do you feel about mom and dad and listen to what they have to say.
Many of our core wounds are unknowingly created through their parental figures in our lives.
We don't feel heard sometimes or perfect or that we're not important.
Listen intently to what your inner child has to tell you.
Ask your inner child how are they feeling about them?
What's going on in their mind?
If you like,
Ask permission from your inner child to hold them or hug them.
Now knowing what you know,
What do they need to hear from you now to let them know that they are safe and loved?
To let them know that nothing is their fault?
Tell them in a language that you would use speaking to a child.
Remember the overflow of love in your heart.
Tell your inner child that they hold this in them too.
As a reminder,
You place your hand in your pocket and pull out a little box.
You give it to your inner child and they open it with the biggest smile.
This gift is a symbol of your bond and your commitment to your inner child.
Allow any feelings to arise as you spend a few more moments here.
Taking in the lessons,
Reflecting on what you were told by your inner child and overflowing with love.
You say goodbye,
Not for the last time.
Your inner child runs off to play,
Feeling heard,
Loved,
And safe.
Now turn around in your mind's eye and come back to the now.
Connect back into your heart,
To your overflow.
Deep breath in.
Slow breath out.
Now it's time for you to ask you,
How do I feel?
What did I hear deep down in my heart when I listened to my inner child?
How can I heal that today?
Deep breath in.
Slow breath out.
Spend as much time as you need now with you,
Knowing you are safe here and you are loved.
Knowing that by doing this work,
You are already healing,
