The Soothing Embrace of the Beach My name is Sophie and this is a story about the soothing embrace of the beach for Cassia,
A young lady burdened by the weariness of sleepless nights and the relentless demands of a bustling life.
Recently,
Cassia has not been sleeping well at night,
Constantly tossing and turning in bed.
Her mind was busy with thoughts and her body restless from exhaustion.
Life had been so frantic lately,
There was no time for herself.
In search of some respite,
She took herself away from the stresses of life and decided to go for an early evening walk along the beach.
To get down to the beach,
She walked through a tiny humble gate that took her to some steps leading down to the shore.
She began walking down the steps to her beautiful sandy beach.
The stairs counted down like a lullaby as with each descending step she took,
She felt more and more relaxed.
It was as if each step was a step closer to mind and body relaxation.
A step away from her worries,
Peeling away tension.
A step away from her busy life,
A step away from all her troubles.
She took 1,
2,
3 and 4 steps down,
Feeling more and more calm and relaxed.
5,
6,
7,
The gentle descent continued towards the rhythmic whispers of the waves.
8,
9,
10,
11 more steps to feeling more and more calm.
12,
13,
14,
15 worries melting away as she doubled her relaxation with each step.
16,
17,
18,
19 steps down to peace and tranquility.
Finally,
With the 20th step,
The sand embraced her toes,
Grounding her in the soothing embrace of the beach.
There was a gentle breeze as she watched the ocean gently wash into the shore,
And then wash out again,
In and out.
It had a rhythmic motion that calmed her as she watched it,
And the water came in and then washed out again.
She couldn't take her eyes off it.
Its rhythm became her anchor,
And with each ebb and flow,
Her troubles seemed to dissolve in its embrace,
Mesmerised by the consistent flow of the waves,
The inevitability of it coming in and going out,
In and out,
The different patterns it would make in the sand with each and every wave.
There was something so calming and so peaceful about this beautiful beach.
She decided to walk further along the shoreline and explore a little more.
The water washed over her toes as it came into the shore,
Cooling her feet and sending ripples of calm up her spine.
With every gentle step she took,
Her heavy footsteps sinking into the sand with every step.
As Cassia strolled along the shoreline,
Her gaze was drawn to a distant flicker of light,
Akin to fireflies weaving their magic.
As she walked closer,
She noticed a bar.
The bar had small tables outside that were lit by the fairy lights and some candles that rested on them.
She noticed there were lots of couples there that evening,
Huddled over the candlelight,
The reflection of the light shining on their faces,
Giving them a loving glow.
There was something so peaceful about the bar,
Something so charming about it,
Something relaxing about being in the presence of people who were happy and loved.
Their energy was powerful,
As if she could feel it floating through the air and touching her,
Giving her a sense of tranquility and reassurance that all was well in the world.
A shared moment of intimacy that touched Cassia's heart.
They were loved.
She was loved.
She watched for a while,
Wondering what secrets were being shared between the lovers.
You could tell the couples were still in the throes of honeymoon bliss.
Their eyes never left each other.
Their laughs were so hard and authentic,
Throwing their heads back as their hair blew in the wind,
So encapsulated and enthralled with what their partner was saying that they were completely oblivious that they were being watched.
After a while,
Cassia walked past the bar,
Towards two trees that had a large hammock tied between them.
Overcome with calm and intrigue,
She climbed in.
As she rested her head back,
The sky awaited her gaze with open arms.
The cosmic open sky reminded her that the world was big and full of possibilities.
She swayed the hammock to and fro,
Repeatedly,
Soothing her with every swing.
Feeling so calm and relaxed,
She almost closed her eyes.
A pendulum of serenity,
Guiding her thoughts away from the burdens of the day.
The clouds in the sky were forming the most beautiful shapes.
As if the universe were trying to pass a message on to her.
Everything is going to be okay.
You are on the right path.
Trust in the universe.
Cassia swept over her.
And she imagined her worries and troubles were washing out with the ocean.
Drifting out to sea,
Far,
Far away.
Not for her to worry about right now.
Now was her time.
Time to relax.
Time to sleep.
And as she closed her eyes,
The hammock swayed.
A gentle cradle of dreams,
Inviting her into a world of restfulness.
And she finally drifted off to sleep.
In the arms of the universe,
Under the stars she slept.
A sleep full of serenity.
Dreaming dreams that whispered of promise,
Healing and possibilities for when she awoke.
