Welcome to this moment of healing and release.
You've chosen to let go of what no longer serves you.
To find peace within yourself and to open your heart to forgiveness.
This time is for you and only you.
So make yourself comfortable,
Allow your body to settle,
Your breath to slow and your mind to become still.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Feeling your lungs expand and exhale softly through your mouth,
Letting go of tension as you close your eyes if you haven't already.
And now let's begin.
Let's start by tuning into your breath.
Notice its natural rhythm,
The gentle rise and fall,
The air entering and leaving your body.
There's no need to force it,
Simply observe it like watching the waves of the ocean.
Now take a slow,
Deep breath in,
Feel your chest and belly expand and exhale fully,
Releasing any tension.
Again,
Breathe in deeply and exhale softly,
Letting go now.
With each breath,
Imagine yourself sinking deeper into relaxation as though you're being cradled by a soft and supportive cloud.
Breathe in calm and exhaling as you release.
As you continue breathing deeply,
You can bring your awareness to the top of your head.
Imagine a warm golden light there,
A light of compassion and understanding.
With each breath,
This light begins to flow down through your body,
Releasing tension,
Filling you with a sense of peace.
Feel it moving down your forehead,
Softening your face and jaw.
It moves to your neck and shoulders,
Dissolving any tightness.
The golden light flows down your arms,
Into your chest and all the way to your fingertips.
Allow it to fill your heart space,
Warming you with a comforting glow.
With every exhalation,
Feel yourself letting go as though you're releasing old heavy burdens.
The golden light continues to your stomach,
Your hips,
Your legs and finally your feet.
Your entire body is now bathed in this soothing,
Healing light.
You are safe.
You are at peace.
Now I invite you to visualize a gentle,
Flowing river in front of you.
The water is crystal clear,
Sparkling in the sunlight,
And the river is a symbol of release,
A place where you can let go of anything that weighs on your heart.
As you stand beside the river,
Bring to mind a person,
A situation or even a part of yourself that you wish to forgive.
There's no need to force anything.
Whatever arises naturally is perfect.
Feel the emotions that come up,
Knowing it's safe to feel them here.
This is your space of healing and acceptance.
Now take a deep breath in and as you exhale,
Imagine placing this burden onto a small,
Beautiful leaf.
See yourself gently setting the leaf on the water's surface and you watch as the river carries it away further and further downstream until it's no longer in sight.
Let's connect this act of forgiveness to your breath.
Breathing in deeply,
Filling your body with understanding and compassion,
Hold the breath for a moment,
Let it settle in your heart and as you exhale,
Imagine releasing resentment,
Pain or judgment.
Breathing in forgiveness,
Exhaling tension.
Breathe in compassion and exhale the burden.
Breathe in freedom,
Exhaling peace.
With each breath you feel your heart becoming lighter,
More open.
Forgiveness isn't about condoning what happened,
It's about freeing yourself,
Reclaiming your energy and allowing healing to take root.
As you continue breathing silently or out loud,
You repeat these affirmations to yourself.
I forgive because I deserve peace.
I release what no longer serves me.
I'm free and I am whole.
With each repetition you feel the truth of these words sinking deeper into your heart.
Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself,
A way to honour your strength and resilience.
Remember forgiveness is a process and it's okay to take your time.
Each breath,
Each moment of release brings you closer to peace.
Carry this lightness with you.
And know that you have the power to heal and grow.
You are worthy of forgiveness,
Love and peace.
And when you're ready,
Begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Feel the surface beneath you,
The air around you and the peace within you.
I'll count from one to five and with each number you'll return more fully to the here and now,
Carrying this sense of forgiveness and freedom with you.
One,
Starting to notice the sounds around you.
Two,
Feeling your fingers and toes gently awaken.
Three,
Taking a deep,
Refreshing breath in.
Four,
Becoming aware of your surroundings now.
And five,
Opening your eyes,
Feeling calm,
Light and ready to move forward.
Thank you for your time.
