Hello and welcome to this chakra meditation.
The theory of the chakras is a paradigm that comes from the yoga tradition.
And in modern times,
The way that we use chakra meditation is we focus on the seven chakras that are in the major energy channel of the body.
And the major energy channel is the channel of energy that goes up the spine.
And the seven major chakras are wheels of energy that help energy flow very smoothly and well so that it gets transferred throughout all the channels of the body.
So chakra means wheel or disc and it's an energy disc that helps spin and push energy throughout the body.
The reason we do chakra meditation is it's one way to balance out these energy centers so that the energy continues to flow freely.
These energy centers can get blocked throughout the day or throughout our lives based on external energy that comes our way from other people,
What they say or how they treat us or environmental experiences that we have outside or in our world.
And they can get out of balance also from what's going on internally,
Our thoughts,
Our feelings.
Energy is always shifting.
So to help balance these energy centers,
One way is to meditate because thoughts are energy and where we direct our awareness,
Energy follows.
So by directing our awareness to the body in compassionate ways and by doing chakra visualization,
We're helping to balance out the energy centers according to chakra theory.
I invite you to try this out.
See how this feels for you and if this is a practice that feels good to you,
It's something you can return to every day or every week as often as it feels right.
Come into a comfortable seated position and as you get comfortable,
Sit nice and tall without straining.
As you sit nice and tall,
It helps the energy travel up and down,
A major energy channel that goes up the spine.
Tuck the chin a little bit so that the back of the neck is long again without straining in any way.
Be comfortable.
Relax the body in this posture except for the muscles that you need to sit upright.
You can close the eyes or have a soft gaze down at the floor in front of you.
The hands can rest on the lap,
Palms up for a more receiving posture and palms down for a more introspective gesture.
Let the breath flow in and flow out.
Bring your awareness down to the base of the spine where the sitting bones meet the cushion.
And here,
Gently visualize a glowing ball of light at the base of the spine.
The color of the energy of this ball is red.
There's no right or wrong way for this basic chakra balancing.
There's no specific shade you have to envision of red.
Simply envision a ball of light that is red at the base of the spine.
And as you envision this red healing energy at the base of the spine,
You're letting energy flow here to help you feel grounded,
Grounded and stable and safe.
Your basic needs of life are met and you are grounded and safe.
Bring that energy up a little bit,
A couple of inches up the spine in the body,
Still lower than the belly button and envision this light glowing orange now in the middle of the sacral area of the body.
At this sacral chakra,
When the light is orange and glowing as you envision this for balancing the chakras,
You're helping connect to your sense of fluidity and playfulness in life.
Fluidity with finances,
In relationships,
The ability to be able to give and to receive and to relax,
Creativity,
Creation,
Whether it's artistic or otherwise,
You're balancing out this ability to be more fluid and playful and light.
As you breathe in and breathe out and envision the color orange here and an orange ball in the sacral area.
Now bring that light up into the solar plexus,
Which is above the belly button,
Still in the center of the body.
And this ball of light glows like the sun,
Yellow like the sun.
As you envision this yellow light here in the center of the body,
You're strengthening your will to be living in alignment with what's right for you.
You're bolstering your self-esteem,
Your determination,
The energy toward being who you can be as your fullest manifestation of yourself.
Yellow here in the center of the body.
Let the light start to turn to a very soothing,
Gentle green now as you envision that light traveling up to the center of the chest gently here,
Which is the heart chakra.
And if you want to put your hands on top of each other right here in the center of the chest,
Go ahead and do that.
Compassionately putting your hands on your chest,
Envision a green glowing orb of light here,
Helping to heal the heart,
Helping to help you with love in your relationships.
You can keep the hands here or release them into your lap again as you bring the light up and it glows blue.
Blue in the throat area now,
See a blue orb of light.
And this helps you with communication,
Being able to communicate clearly,
Truthfully and compassionately,
And being able to listen with compassion and care.
Blue in the throat area.
And now bring that light up into the third eye where this light now glows indigo in the middle of the forehead.
It's a deep midnight purple blue.
And this helps balance out your intuition and your thinking mind so that you're not straying too far into overthinking or too far into just intuition.
You're balancing out intuition and thinking as you envision indigo here at the third eye in the middle of the forehead.
And now bring that light up into the crown chakra,
The crown of the head,
And let it glow white at the top of the head,
A white halo light at the top of the head.
White healing energy glowing at the top of the head.
And here this energy helps you feel connected to bliss,
To the oneness that connects us all in life,
That we are all connected energetically.
And allow this white light now to travel down the body.
So healing white light down the head and the neck and the shoulders,
Down the arms and the hands and the fingers,
White light,
Down the chest and the torso,
Front and back,
Down the legs and the feet and the toes.
With your awareness,
See the body in white light that is healing and comforting and energizing in a way that is not making you feel overly anxious or overly stressed out.
It's an energy that is healing,
That is soothing,
That is comforting white light.
And now releasing the visualization of color,
Bring your awareness to the sitting bones and how it feels to be seated in the chair.
And without any judgment,
Notice how your body feels.
Notice how your mind is.
And let the breath flow in and out.
Slowly open your eyes if they've been closed and give yourself some time to adjust to the light in the room.
And know that if this chakra practice felt good to you,
You can return to it anytime.
It's a paradigm,
A very old and ancient paradigm to use chakra,
Healing chakra meditation to help balance the energy.
And this way of doing it in this way with these specific colors has seemed to help many people feel that this can help them be more balanced and more focused and more in touch with what they want to be doing with their lives,
More centered,
More grounded in who they are.
