Welcome to this chakra balancing meditation.
I'll take a few moments to talk to you about the chakras and then I'll lead you in a guided meditation to help you feel more centered,
Relaxed,
Balanced,
And able to focus.
Chakra simply means wheel or disc.
It's a Sanskrit word and it comes from the yogic tradition.
Chakra theory is rooted in ancient,
Ancient theory that comes from India.
And this idea of the fact that we have energy bodies,
That we have energy that courses through our body,
Is also said to be true from other traditions as well.
This energy flow through the body that we call prana in Sanskrit and the yogic tradition is also called chi or it's called ki.
And so other cultures have had their own experiences with energy medicine or energy wellness and they just call it something different.
So the wheels or the discs,
The chakras in the body,
Can get out of balance any time of day at any time in our life.
From the external stimulus,
From internal stimulus that we have from our thoughts,
From our actions,
Because our thoughts and everything we say and think and do,
It's all energy.
And the body,
These energy centers and the energy channels in our body,
That's all energy so it's all connected.
It all communicates with each other.
And when the energy can flow freely,
We feel better physically,
Mentally,
Emotionally,
Spiritually.
We feel more like ourself,
More able to focus,
More able to feel good emotions.
When our energy is out of balance,
When chakras are stuck or blocked,
There's stagnation in the body and that can lead to discomfort.
It can be associated with headaches,
It can be associated with troubles with digestion,
It can be associated with all of these things.
As I always say,
This is not medical advice.
Still,
If you're having any discomfort,
Always speak to your doctor.
This is something that's called complementary,
Meaning in addition to.
So still,
Seek medical advice always.
This is only for educational purposes.
And it's something that's fascinating to learn about,
About the energy body.
And so the way that the visualization and the guided meditation works is that I'll guide you to visualize where the different chakras are.
We'll go through seven chakras in the main energy channel of the body.
And the reason visualization tends to work for people is that where your awareness goes,
Energy follows.
So as we're bringing our awareness to the different areas of the body,
Energy follows.
And then as you visualize these specific visualizations that I'll guide you through,
They are said to help these specific chakras,
Energy to energy.
And we'll go through this step by step.
And at the end,
You'll be able to take a moment and notice how you feel before we finish.
And this is a practice you could repeat again and again.
If you want to listen to this meditation every day,
You can even skip this intro part and just start with the meditation.
Or you could do this once a week,
Or just whenever you have the time.
Chakra meditation tends to be very useful for a lot of people,
Because having the focal point of the chakras and the colors and these visualizations can help focus the awareness.
And it's this one pointedness of focus that we strengthen and that can help us not only in the meditation,
But then it also resonates throughout our life and strengthens our ability to stay focused,
Strengthens our ability to direct our awareness,
Rather than feel like we're constantly pulled in a million directions by a million thoughts and a million obligations.
As we go through the chakras,
Each chakra,
Each one of the seven chakras corresponds to different body parts and corresponds to different mental states.
And so going through all the chakras is a great way to have a comprehensive experience.
So let's begin.
Come into a comfortable seated position.
Close the eyes or hold a soft,
Gentle gaze with your eyes pointed downward at the floor.
By simply closing the eyes or holding a gaze downward,
You're again encouraging focus and one pointed focus.
You're welcome to focus on the breath as it flows in and out as your focal point,
And also the sound of my voice.
If the mind wanders or you get distracted,
It's okay,
Simply bring the awareness back to the meditation.
As the breath flows in and out,
Notice your sitting bones rooting down into the cushion.
And notice the crown of the head as it points up toward the beautiful,
Expansive sky.
And the breath flows in and the breath flows out.
Relax the face.
Relax the body except for the muscles you need to hold yourself upright.
And throughout the meditation,
Allow the body to continue to relax.
There's no need to hold tension anywhere in the body.
And the breath flows in and the breath flows out.
As you sit here,
Bring your awareness to the sitting bones to the base of the spine.
And in that area,
The base of the spine is where the root chakra is,
The first chakra.
And so you can imagine at the base of the spine,
A small glowing orb of light like a wheel or a disc.
And imagine this energy,
This wheel of light is glowing red.
Any shade of red that comes to your awareness,
Red at the base of the spine,
A glowing orb of red inside the body,
Inside this glowing red orb of light,
A wheel or a disc.
And now invite that light to turn orange as it travels a couple of inches up the spine into the sacral area.
So it's still below the belly button.
In the area of the spine,
A glowing red globe of light has become orange.
Envision orange here in the sacral area,
Radiating into the body,
This beautiful orange glow.
And allow this light to travel up now a little above the belly button into the solar plexus area.
This is where the solar plexus chakra is.
And envision this light now turning yellow,
Yellow like the sun.
And now allow this light to gently travel up very gently into the chest area and let it glow green,
A gentle green,
A green orb of light in the center of the chest.
And this is the heart chakra area,
Let it glow green.
And now bring that light up into the throat area.
A beautiful shade of blue in the throat area here.
This is the throat chakra,
Let it glow blue.
And now allow this light to travel up to the third eye,
Which is in the middle of the forehead.
And here let it be an indigo color like the midnight sky,
A purpley dark kind of color like the midnight sky at the third eye.
And breathe,
Let the breath be normal.
Let the body be relaxed.
And envision this light come up to the crown of the head,
Let it glow white,
A beautiful white light at the crown of the head.
And now allow that white light to travel down the body,
Down the forehead,
Down the entire face and back of the head,
White light,
A healing white light from cell to cell,
Down the shoulders,
The arms,
The hands and the fingers,
Envision white light,
Healing glowing down the chest,
Front and back,
Down the torso,
Down the legs,
Down the feet and the toes.
See the body glowing white light,
A healing glowing white light throughout the body.
Now bring your awareness to the third eye chakra and see it glowing indigo.
And this beautiful indigo light balances out the mind and the awareness,
Calming the mind down and strengthening that balance between thinking mind and intuitive mind so that you'll have this ability to be sharp and focused with your thinking and also open-minded to your intuition.
And now bring the awareness down to the throat chakra where it glows blue.
And here as you see this blue light,
Imagine speaking with clarity,
Listening with compassion,
Being able to speak your truth with clarity and being able to listen with compassion.
These are one of the qualities of the throat chakra and the throat area.
And now envision in the heart,
The center of the body,
Green light.
And a balanced heart means you both give love and receive love.
You allow love in and you allow yourself to express love.
Not only romantic love,
Just the love for other humans and other beings.
So this general compassion,
This general loving kindness,
This general friendliness,
This energy that is more tender.
This is the work of a balanced heart.
And now see the solar plexus,
The center of the torso glowing yellow.
And as this energy center is balanced,
You have a better connection to your sense of self-worth and your sense of willpower to do the things that you want to accomplish in your life.
In whatever realm,
Personal,
Professional,
Wellness,
A glowing yellow chakra balancing out this chakra in the solar plexus helps you with self-esteem that goes with will.
And those two together helping you achieve the things or be the things that you want to in your life.
And now down into the sacral area where it's orange.
So a couple inches below the belly button,
Orange throughout the pelvic area,
The sacral area.
And as the energy gets balanced here,
It helps you with a general sense of ease and playfulness in your life,
Specifically in realms of sexuality and in realms of finance and in realms of creating projects in your life.
And now bringing the awareness down to the root,
The root chakra where it glows red at the base of the spine.
This is one of the most important chakras because without this chakra,
Without the base chakra feeling like it can help with the energy flow,
The rest of the chakras can get very stuck and stagnant.
This root chakra at the base of the spine,
Helping connect us to the earth has to do with feelings of the basic safeties of life,
Feeling safe and secure that you have enough and you are enough just as you are.
This chakra can get very destabilized so easily with the challenges we face in our life,
With the challenges we face in the world and how we can feel so knocked off course and knocked off balance.
And even if that's so in our life,
How can we energetically come to meditation,
Come to the chakra balancing work and help us feel more rooted and stable simply because we're alive.
We all need support from other people.
We all need help and we are all connected.
And so our connections with others can also help us feel rooted and stable on the earth.
And at the same time,
We also come to meditation to help us as well,
To feel that way as we breathe in and out and envision red at the root chakra,
The energy center that is closest to mother earth.
Take a moment as the breath flows in and out and notice how you feel in this moment without judging it or needing it to be another way.
Just notice.
Feel your sitting bones rooting down into the cushion and take a nice deep inhale through the nose,
A long,
Slow exhale through the mouth.
Open your eyes and let yourself adjust to the light in the room.
Take another deep breath in,
A long exhale out,
And then get on with the rest of your day or evening.
And remember that this practice is here for you to return to anytime.
And I look forward to meditating with you again soon.

This was great. Even though I cried when you got to the root chakra. I feel like I’m completely unbalanced because I don’t feel safe in the world. I will come back to this meditation again. Thank you.
