Welcome my friend.
Welcome to your winter solstice meditation.
Today we are going to honor the spirit of this beautiful earth that we live on and the quiet beauty of winter.
The solstice is a great time to invite you,
Invite us collectively to really slow down,
To reflect,
And to deepen your connection to the natural world.
So as you're ready,
Begin to find a comfortable position,
Seated or lying down,
And gently close your eyes if you can,
If you want to,
If it's comfortable and safe.
And then begin to take a beautiful deep breath in through your nose and an exhale just softly through your mouth,
Your nose.
Allow your beautiful self to fully arrive in this sacred space.
Let's take a few more of those breaths just to really ground into the earth's energy so big inhale deep into your belly,
Slow long exhale out.
Perfect.
Let's do two more of those big deep inhale in,
Slow long exhale out.
One more really grounding you in,
Big big inhale deep and slow right into that belly of yours.
And then really slow exhale out.
And we'll begin our meditation.
So begin by just noticing the connection between your amazing body and the earth below you.
Whether you're on the earth directly,
You're on a floor,
Or maybe elevated a bit,
Imagine the earth and feel the ground supporting you.
That essence of steady,
Unwavering energy.
Begin to imagine deep roots growing out from your body,
All the way into the soil,
Dancing and weaving as one with the earth's energy.
And with each breath,
You feel yourself becoming even more grounded.
And more in tune to the heartbeat,
The rhythm of take a slow deep inhale.
And imagine you're drawing in that quiet,
Restorative energy of winter.
As you breathe in,
Hold that in for a moment,
Let it go.
Let that stillness settle you.
And as you're exhaling,
Release any tension,
Worry,
Or heaviness that's in you or with you.
With each breath,
Sense yourself really aligning with that peaceful essence of the earth.
Imagine yourself standing in an ancient forest,
Blanketed in beautiful,
Glistening snow.
And the air is crisp and so invigorating.
And the muffled silence is profound.
Feel that same presence of the earth beneath your feet.
Sturdy,
Strong,
And timeless.
And as you begin to walk deeper into the forest,
Sense this spirit of winter surrounding you.
Almost as if it was alive.
This wise,
Nurturing energy that invites you to pause,
Reflect,
And simply be.
And imagine this beautiful spirit wrapping around you like a soft cloak,
Reminding you that even in stillness,
There is great power.
And as you stand quietly in the forest with this beautiful cloak over you,
Place your hands over your heart,
And then tune in to the heartbeat of the earth.
Feel the steady rhythm almost echoing and reverberating through you.
Receive it.
Allow it to remind you of your connection to the land,
To the trees,
To the rivers,
To the animals.
You are.
May you whisper now a silent thank you to the earth for its gifts,
Her guidance,
Her kindness,
Even in the coldest,
Darkest days of winter.
And truly let this gratitude flow from your heart and see it pour onto the earth itself.
Now,
Visualize the gifts of winter entering your spirit,
Your being.
Maybe it's the gift of rest,
Or that invigorating clarity,
Or a renewed connection to your inner wisdom and knowing.
See these gifts as shimmering lights flowing from the earth into your body now.
And let them settle into your beautiful heart,
Bringing you such a sense of peace and renewal.
Now think of what you would like the earth to help you with.
Something that maybe you want to release.
Perhaps an old pattern.
Could be fears that you have,
Or burdens.
And as you exhale each time,
Imagine these energies just sinking in the soil,
Where mama earth is able to hold them and transform them.
And give you a moment to just do that.
Visualize that releasing,
Releasing,
Release.
And now reflect on what you'd like to nurture in the months ahead.
What would you like to bring into your roots,
To nourish?
And then imagine planting these intentions,
Almost like seeds,
In the earth.
Or maybe even just sparks of an idea.
And trusting and knowing,
And seeing them growing strong and vibrant as winter begins to turn into spring.
And trust that it is done.
And as your time with winter,
The forest,
And the space comes to a close,
Begin to really bring to mind a sense of deep gratitude for the earth,
For the spirit of winter,
For this time and connection and all that they had to offer.
Whispering a quiet thank you to yourself for taking this time to connect.
Maybe place a hand over your heart and whisper that thank you.
You can place your hand back down if you placed it over your beautiful heart.
And at this time,
Begin to just imagine your body again exactly where you are in space right now.
In the room or the area that you're in right now.
And begin to deepen your breath,
Inhaling deep back into that belly space we did right at the beginning.
Breathing in and breathing out.
You can slowly begin to maybe wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Maybe give a beautiful stir of the neck from side to side,
Just bring in some organic movements.
When you're ready,
You can bow your head and slowly blink open your eyes,
Coming back into your space.
And taking the time to jot down anything that came to mind if you want in a journal or just know that it's with you.
And taking your time to fully arrive back in your space and begin to integrate back into your day.
Having such a beautiful,
Grateful heart for yourself showing up today in a special place in your heart,
The spirit of winter,
The season.
