Welcome to this quick five-minute meditation to slow down and rest in the spaciousness of your awareness.

I invite you to find your most comfortable position,

Either sitting or laying down,

In a quiet and peaceful space.

Now gently close your eyes or keep them slightly open and bring your awareness to your body as you settle into the present.

With every exhale,

Relax all the muscles in the face,

Your jaw,

Area around your eyes.

Normally we hold a lot of tension here,

So simply release.

You are here,

Safe and sound.

Now bring your awareness to the space around your neck.

Relax your shoulders.

See your arms as a waterfall,

Releasing all the tightness,

Keeping your chest outright but not uptight,

And relaxing all the abdomen muscles.

Relax all the way down to your feet.

Right now,

You're not looking to change anything.

The relaxation is so deep that you just want to be aware of your body becoming relaxed.

We are bringing body,

Mind and speech to a complete silence for this short duration.

If there are thoughts,

Let them be,

Without the need to hold or push them away.

As we are simply trying to relax our body and find stillness,

Be like a lighthouse.

No matter how strong the waves are,

You're standing still and tall,

But being aware of your awareness.

You're not trying to entertain anything.

You're simply here,

Present,

Simply watching what's coming and going.

Let's spend the next minute in complete silence,

Simply becoming aware of your awareness.

May you find peace and stillness.
