
Get Out Of Bed-itation: For Those Mornings Ya Wanna Sleep In
For those mornings when you're just struggling to get out of bed -- we'll breathe deep into the energy centres, do an invigorating body scan, visualize our most uplifted energy for the day, and mentally rehearse the first few steps we can take to get us moving in the right direction -- and then, hopefully, feel the energy to get up and rolling for the day.

Hey,
It's Cyrus.
Welcome to this meditation that'll help you get out of bed feeling more energized in just a few short minutes.
Go ahead and lie down in your bed,
Which I guess you're already in,
In a comfortable position.
And close your eyes.
And now take a deep but gentle breath in through your nose,
Into the belly.
And release it with some power on the way out through the mouth.
Let's do one more like that,
Even deeper in,
Breathing into the whole body.
And blowing it out,
Releasing through the mouth.
And now let's move the attention like a spotlight,
Smoothly bringing attention to the body so we can energize the different areas of the body.
Starting by bringing attention to your tongue.
Moving to the center of your neck.
Your shoulders.
Elbows.
Wrists.
The palms of your hands,
Electromagnetically vibrating with energy.
Your thumbs.
Index fingers.
Middle fingers.
Ring fingers.
Pinky fingers.
Back to your wrists.
Elbows.
Shoulders.
The center of your chest feeling your heart.
Your stomach and belly.
Your hips.
Knees.
Ankles.
Soles of your feet.
First toes.
Second toes.
Third toes.
Fourth toes.
Fifth toes.
All 10 toes,
Like the keys on a piano.
And now take a deep,
Slow breath in through your nose and imagine as though you're breathing all the way down to your toes.
And on the exhale,
Track the breath as it flows back up the body,
Out through the nose.
And now again,
Breathing in through the nose,
Down to the knees.
And breathing back up through the knees,
Up,
Up through the nose.
And now breathing in through the nose,
Powerfully down into the stomach,
Filling up the stomach.
And breathing back up out through the nose.
Down into the heart on this next breath.
And back up through the nose.
Breathe into the neck and throat area,
Invigorating and energizing.
And gently release out through the nose.
Now breathe straight into the center of your forehead,
Lighting up your imagination for the day.
And let it fall out through the mouth.
And finally,
Breathe up through the top of the head.
And slowly release the breath.
And now,
No matter where you began or where you are now,
Start to imagine the most incredible day you can envision.
See and feel yourself filled up with the most relaxed,
Positive,
Excited,
Passionate energy you can envision yourself in today.
Breathe that energy powerfully and intentionally into the body and allow yourself to start to feel that right now.
Releasing past and future and stepping into this river of the moment with all of its potential and possibilities starting to open up in front of you.
And now finally,
Envision yourself taking the first few small steps that you want to take to get your day moving in the direction that you want it to go.
Envision yourself taking those few small steps and feel the simplicity of it in your body,
One thing at a time.
And now,
Without further ado,
When you feel ready,
Slowly start to wiggle the fingers or toes.
Stretch however you want to stretch.
Open the eyes.
Slowly sit up and get out of bed when you feel ready and start to take those few small steps,
Trusting yourself to gradually build your momentum as you do.
