This guided lying down meditation connects us to the Earth. We feel its energy in our body and release all tensions and concepts. This allows us to relax and to “sink” deeply without effort. By letting go, again and again, we surrender to our awareness, experiencing balance with Nature.

My name is Gerald Blomile and I wrote and recorded this podcast meditation for you.

Enjoy.

Find a place in nature where you feel at home.

Lie down and get comfortable on a blanket.

Lie with your hands along your sides,

Feet slightly apart.

Trust that nature is there to help you and to bring your energies and those of the earth into a natural balance.

Allow yourself to surrender into a deep union of inner and outer nature.

Close your eyes and relax your abdomen.

Watch your body breathing all by itself.

Notice the diaphragm relaxing,

Allowing your breath to deepen.

Allow your abdomen to open and participate in the breathing.

At the same time,

Stay open to your feelings and relax.

Surrendering to gravity allows you to experience the body deeply.

Feel both the downward force from above and the upward current rising from the ground.

By engaging with the earth,

We become aware of the upward force that supports us.

Scan through your whole body and notice where you're holding tension.

Remember that tensions are often caused by strong emotions,

Such as fear,

Anger,

Sadness,

Anxiety,

Or worry.

Just feel your way,

Making friends with them.

Welcome the sensations in your jaw.

Let your eyes be aware of colour and light and darkness.

Let your nose be open to smell and your mouth to taste.

Notice the sensations of the body and the air gently touching your skin.

Notice the sensation of your clothes and where your body is touching the earth.

Sounds are all around you.

Be open so you're listening everywhere.

Take a few moments to be aware of sound as vibration before the mind names it.

Notice the effect on your body and mind when listening becomes openness.

Feel yourself as the unlocalised openness of awareness welcoming the sounds coming and going.

Let go of any thoughts and settle into the ease of being at this moment.

Allow your attention to move about freely,

Noticing sounds,

Thoughts,

Or sensations without becoming involved.

Feel yourself as spacious awareness.

Relax further.

Notice your muscles softening.

Relaxing is as simple as intending to open a fist.

Allow this to happen in every part of your body.

Remember you cannot force relaxation.

Forcing or worrying just causes contraction.

Trust your intent to decontract and to relax with ease.

Just notice what is happening.

Allow your mind to relax and soften.

Notice the sensations inside your body and on its surface.

The whole body is a radiant sensation,

Relaxed and at ease.

You are the spacious openness in which all these sensations are coming and going.

Notice your breathing and heartbeat are slow,

Steady,

Regular.

Notice a sense of natural ease spreading throughout the body,

Gently allowing any tension to sink down into the earth.

Feel the body starting to let go.

Feel the energy of Mother Earth rising up a few centimeters into your body.

Consciously generate a feeling of warmth and trust.

Feel deeply supported by the earth energy merging with you from below.

Trust the healing power of nature to flow into the opening process under light and its restorative power.

Now let your attention sink a few centimeters into the ground.

Sink deeper.

Imagine that you have roots growing into the earth.

Feel the roots.

Feel your awareness sinking deeper into the earth.

And imagine the roots growing deeper too.

Feel the strength,

Solidity and warmth of the earth.

Sink even deeper into the earth.

Just trust and let go.

Let yourself sink as far as you can.

Let go of any resistance or blockages.

Open your mind at this step.

With every out-breath let your consciousness sink deeper into the earth,

Further and further.

You are now deeply connected to the earth.

Let your consciousness drop even further and further still.

If you encounter a barrier,

Just release and fall through it.

Go yet deeper.

The depth of the earth energy has no boundary.

Let go of all concepts and opinions.

Let go of your desires and longings.

Allow yourself to surrender and to be drawn into its infinite depth.

Think of this as the source of everything.

This is your true home.

Let go of all resistance.

Realize there's no ground to it.

Experience a feeling of liberation.

Enjoy the infinity beneath you.

Let go of any effort and relax completely.

Notice what your mind feels like when it is completely open and unlimited.

Now let your consciousness slowly arise again.

When you're back in your body,

Notice what it feels like to be completely relaxed.

Continue to feel the stream of energy rising from the ground.

And open yourself to this gentle upward movement.

Feel supported by the power of the earth.

At any time you can allow yourself to open to the power of the earth.

Just feel its energy rising,

Nourishing and supporting you.
