Welcome to your mindful reset.
A meditation to master your inner Mean Girl.
There are moments when the voice in your mind isn't very kind.
It points out what's not enough,
What could be better.
What you should have done differently.
And over time,
That voice can start to feel like the truth.
But today,
We're creating space between you and that harsh voice.
Space that allows you to take your power back.
And to release that inner critic.
Gently find a comfortable position.
And softly close your eyes.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And exhale gently.
Yen.
Inhale through the nose.
And exhale from the mouth.
Let your body begin to soften.
Now gently bring to mind that inner voice.
Not the whole story.
Just the tone of it.
Maybe it sounds critical,
Maybe impatient,
Maybe harsh.
And instead of pushing it away,
Just notice it.
Here's something.
Important.
That voice is not who you are.
It's a pattern,
A learned way of thinking.
Let that sink in for a moment,
Taking a slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Create more space between you and that voice.
Imagine it like a sound in the background.
You can hear it,
But you don't have to follow it.
Now gently shift your attention to another voice.
A quieter one,
A softer one.
That is your true essence.
That is the part of you that understands,
That cares.
That wants to support you.
It might feel subtle at first.
That's okay.
Take a breath.
And imagine this voice speaking to you.
What would it say?
Maybe something like,
You're doing your best.
You don't have to be perfect.
I'm here with you.
Let those words land.
Now imagine these two voices side by side.
The critical one,
And the compassionate one.
And notice.
You get to choose which one you listen to.
Not by force,
But by gently returning to the voice that feels more supportive.
Again and again.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Let the critical voice soften just a little more.
Not necessarily disappearing completely.
But losing its grip.
You might repeat silently.
I don't have to believe every thought.
I can speak to myself with kindness.
Let those words sink in.
Take one more mindful breath in through the nose.
And release with a long,
Slow exhale from the mouth.
Begin to feel your body again.
Grounded.
And present.
Remember that supportive voice is always there.
And the more you get still,
The louder it will get.
You can come back to it whenever you need.
Gently bring movement back into the body.
And when you're ready.
Softly open your eyes.
May you step forward with renewed and empowered energy.
Leaving that inner mean girl behind.
