Hello,
This is Gemma and this is a meditation to support you in gently letting go of overthinking and resting into stillness.
So you can begin to reconnect with a deeper sense of inner guidance that can sometimes get lost in the noise of thinking.
Take a moment now to settle into a comfortable position.
You might choose to sit or lie down,
Allowing your body to be fully supported.
And if it feels okay for you,
You might gently close your eyes or prefer to soften your gaze.
And just for now,
Can you allow yourself to simply be here as you are?
If your head feels busy right now,
Recognise that this is just your mind full of thoughts,
Questions or looping conversations.
You don't need to stop your thoughts or clear your mind.
Instead,
Just begin to notice.
Notice that thinking is happening.
Gently bring your attention into the body.
Feel the weight of your body being held by the surface beneath you.
Perhaps a chair or the floor.
Sense into the meeting points between that surface and the body.
Perhaps as a gentle pressure or weight.
Notice too the sensation of breath.
Its natural rhythm moving the body.
At the belly,
Ribcage and nostrils.
No need to change it.
Just allowing the body to breathe itself.
Thoughts may come in and try to grab your attention.
Perhaps you can gently acknowledge these thoughts.
Thank them for trying to help in some way.
And as you rest here with the breath,
You might recognise that thoughts can feel a little like background noise.
Like a chatter of voices speaking over one another.
Or a kind of mental static.
There is nothing wrong with any of this.
It is simply the mind doing what it does.
And again,
You might label it as thoughts.
Or gently thank them for showing up.
And then let them pass.
Returning to the breath.
Anchoring into the body.
And slowly,
In time,
Beneath all the noise.
You may become aware of the stillness that resides here.
You might notice that between thoughts,
There are moments of space.
Tiny gaps.
Brief pauses.
You might simply rest here.
With the breath.
The body.
The thoughts coming and going.
And the spaces in between.
And that is enough.
Or perhaps,
As the mind softens,
Something quieter begins to emerge.
Nothing forced.
But something steady.
And unfolding in its own time.
You may notice that in this stillness,
A deeper knowing can arise.
Here,
You might gently ask yourself.
I let go of thinking.
What might I already know?
No need to force an answer.
It may not come as words.
It might be an image.
Or sensation.
A gentle opening up.
Or perhaps there is nothing.
Just an expansion of spaciousness.
Whatever is here,
Or not here,
Is okay.
This is simply a reminder of how to listen.
Listening with the whole body.
Take a moment now to feel into the body once again.
The gentle rhythm of the breath.
And as you begin to come back,
Perhaps carrying with you this simple knowing,
The clarity does not always come from thinking.
Sometimes it emerges when we stop trying and searching.
And allow ourselves to rest in the stillness.
Take a slightly deeper breath here.
In through the nose.
And out through the mouth with a sigh.
Perhaps roll the shoulders.
Take a stretch.
And when you're ready,
Gently begin to open the eyes.
Returning in your own time.
