There have been frequent moments in my life where I've been exhausted,
But I must be able to perform at work or at home,
To be able to focus,
Concentrate,
Or simply handle stuff.
I learned a trick from my first hypnosis teacher.
He explained that in this state of self-hypnosis,
Time distortion happens.
It's like when you're lost in a movie that you're watching.
As you drift into a state of peaceful self-hypnosis,
By definition,
You become highly suggestible.
So I'm sharing my trick with you here.
Suggest to yourself before going in,
5 minutes is 5 hours.
You'll then feel a restful pick-me-up to get you through your day.
I offer this here.
Please arrange yourself comfortably wherever you are.
If possible,
In a reclining position with arms and legs uncrossed.
Now close your eyes down and begin.
A deep belly breath in,
Expanding your breath into your belly.
Rest there a moment.
And then exhale longer to the count of 8.

2,
Exhaling 3,
Letting go now 4,
5,
Breathing out 6,
Keep on going 7,
8.
Again in,
And again out.
Exhaling 1,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7.
5 minutes is 5 hours.
Breathe in and totally let go.
As you breathe out to 8.

2,
3,
5,
6,
7,
8.
Relax the muscles around your eyes now.
Relax your cheeks,
Your forehead,
Your chin.
Think about your whole scalp.
Relax all those muscles.
Your whole head now,
Inside and out.
Now completely relaxed.
Stillness.
Breathe in deeply.
And send a relaxation wave now down through your whole body.
Let go.
Deeper.
Deeper.
Keep going down.
Down.
Deeper down.
Resting.
Restoring every cell in your body.
Now.
Let go even more deep.
So deep.
Nothing to interfere with this rest.
Deeper.
5 minutes is 5 hours.
Rest now.
Deeper.
Rest.
Just rest.
Now.
Time to return to full waking consciousness.
Energy returning to your hands and feet.
Renewed.
Rested.
Able to come back.
Alert.
Focused.
Rested.
