If you're suffering from a chronic illness or aren't feeling up to your usual state of health, then this relaxation is for you. Progressive relaxation alone can help lower blood pressure, reduce your heart rate, reduce muscle tension, and reduce your respiration rate. Adding healing images to your mind is also known to reduce the perception of pain, and can help with your body’s own healing process. This gentle and playful guided imagery can help you set the stage to allow your body to rest and heal.

You may have decided that you need to set some time aside in your life.

You may need something that requires healing.

It could be an ache or a pain or an emotional healing that's required.

And you'd wondered to yourself,

How can I do this?

How can I make this happen in my life easily and effortlessly?

If this suits your needs,

Then this time is for you.

It's here and it's now.

So when you're ready,

With your eyes gently closed,

Settling yourself into a very comfortable position and take a few deep breaths.

Imagine that you can breathe in beautiful energy all around you and that you can breathe out tensions and stress in your body now.

Let each breath take you deeper and deeper into a beautiful state of relaxation.

Now relax all your muscles.

Relax the muscles of your face and in your jaw.

Let go of all tightness and tension in these muscles.

Relax your arms.

Completely relax muscles of your back now,

The upper back and the lower back.

Let go of all tightness and all tension in these muscles.

Now think about the muscles of your stomach and your abdomen so that your breathing stays perfectly relaxed.

That's right.

And relax completely the muscles in your legs now so that your entire body moves into a state of deep relaxation and peace naturally,

Effortlessly.

It could be there are a few outside noises or distractions.

These distractions outside noises serve now to only deepen your level of relaxation even more.

And now imagine or visualize or feel a beautiful white light above your head.

This white light will deepen your level and heal your body.

So now let allow that light to flow into your body through the top of your head.

As it comes in,

It illuminates lights up the brain,

Spinal cord,

Healing these tissues and deepening your level even more.

And allow that light to flow down from above to below like a beautiful wave of light,

Which is touching every cell and every fiber,

Every organ in your body with peace and love and healing.

Wherever your body needs healing and nourishing,

Allow that light to be very strong and powerful there.

You can even visualize increased blood flow to these areas carrying away any damaged cells.

And vividly imagine healthy new cells and the complete absence of pain and any disease.

Excellent.

And now let the rest of the light flow all the way to your feet so that your body is filled with this beautiful white light.

Imagine or feel this white light completely surrounding the outside of your body also.

It's as if you're wrapped up in a beautiful bubble or a cocoon of white light.

This light protects you,

Heals your skin and deepens your level even more.

You can remember this feeling and healing at any time you want by simply saying to yourself,

Repeat the words white light.

And now I'm going to ask you in your mind to count backwards from 10 to one and let each number back take you deeper into the relaxed state.

10,

9,

8.

Deeper and deeper with each number back.

7,

6,

5.

More and more peaceful and relaxed.

4,

3,

So calm and serene now.

2,

Almost there.

1,

Very good.

In this wonderful state of peace and tranquility,

Imagine yourself now walking down a beautiful staircase.

This staircase,

It can look any way you wish.

It could be a staircase that you've seen before or just an imaginary one.

So walk down this staircase.

Down,

Going down.

Deeper,

Deeper.

Down,

Down.

Each step down,

Deepening your level even more.

As you reach the bottom of the steps in front of you is a beautiful garden.

A place of peace,

Beauty,

Safety.

A sanctuary.

Walk into this garden and find a place to rest.

It might be there's a bench or a rock or a soft place encircled with pillows.

Just take a few moments to imagine,

Create and make your garden to be any way you wish.

You may find there to be some trees,

Flowers,

Grass,

Maybe tall trees,

Mossy areas,

A meadow,

Perhaps a pool,

Fountain,

Perhaps light colors,

Dark colors,

Any way you want.

I'll be quiet now so you may do so.

At will.

Now this place,

This garden is where you can go for quiet,

For contemplation,

For rest.

This garden is a very private place to explore your thoughts,

Your feelings,

Your innermost heart,

Your spiritual sanctuary,

If you will,

A peaceful place to pray if you wish,

To meditate.

This,

This garden is the place where your divine self lives.

Here,

Right here,

You can contemplate your loved ones,

Your guardian angel,

Any protectors you may envision or know about.

Those may not always be visible to outer eyes,

But may be seen by the inner eyes there,

Great ones,

Wise ones.

Anyone can and may wish to come and visit you here in your sacred sanctuary.

Here,

Allow your soul memories to be remembered.

Your body,

Still filled with the white light,

Surrounded by the light,

Continues to heal and nourish you.

The deepest levels of your mind can open here.

You can remember everything you need to know about your healing.

You can experience all levels of yourself.

If anything comes up that isn't so comfortable,

Any memory or feeling or any experience during this time of meditation,

It is just fine to float up above it for a moment.

Watch that from a distance.

It's like you're watching a movie.

If it's still too uncomfortable,

You could even open your eyes if you wish.

You could return to full waking consciousness.

But if you can,

Stay with any images and feelings there.

Your own unconscious mind will take care of you like it always has done.

You're in control.

So begin when you're ready now,

Constructing a box,

A chest or a basket,

A container of some kind that has a lid.

It could be any size,

Any shape,

Any dimension,

Any color,

Any shape.

Very quietly,

You may construct your box.

Take a deep breath now and go even deeper,

Even more into perfect harmony.

Open the lid now to your box.

Carefully place all of your cares in there,

Your concerns,

Your worries,

Your hopes,

All your fears.

Place them safely into this box,

Actually or symbolically in full size or miniature,

Or it could be even there written on little pieces of paper.

Whatever way you choose is the correct way for you.

Now place all of your concerns safely in this box.

And then when you're ready,

Place the lid back gently and close the box for now.

So feeling much lighter now,

It's time for you to step out of your garden.

And now finding yourself in the cool shade of trees,

There's a path that leads to a clearing up ahead.

As you walk,

You may feel leaves crunching under your feet,

Hearing birds,

Perhaps bird sounds of insects.

Feel the most gentle breeze.

Trees thin now,

You feel the warmth of sun,

This perhaps sounds of water.

Now arriving at a beautiful beach that leads to the water.

Walking quietly towards this scene,

It's a blue,

Almost a turquoise sea.

And now feeling water on your feet,

Lapping around your ankles,

Wade just as far into the water as you like.

You'll notice embedded in the floor of the sea,

Nearby some large beautiful rocks and what appear to be crystals.

You begin to feel the tingling healing of the water.

This energy is transmitted from those rocks and crystals to the water,

Now absorbed now by your skin and by your body.

And in these waters,

There's also some tame and loving dolphins.

Legends say that dolphins are the master healers.

Imagine them gently coming to be with you in the water.

They're also nurtured,

Nourished by the water.

And they know just where in your body any healing needs to occur.

And with your permission,

They may come and just gently nudge up against the area where there's any pain or discomfort.

But you find yourself distracted by these loving beings and the crystal purity of this water healing,

Swirling around you.

And you can remain for a few moments here.

Drift,

Float,

Play,

Rest in your being,

Noticing the crystal sparkles on the water,

The warmth of the rays of the sun,

Penetrating,

Thinking about healing,

Healthful relaxation to any and all areas that need it most.

You can play here for just a little while if you wish,

Just long enough to feel the depth of inner peace and healing,

Allowing your body to do what it does to work on healing itself.

And when you feel that the time is right,

It's okay for you to say goodbye to those playful dolphins.

But remembering the gentle nudge,

The playfulness,

The ebb,

The flow of the tide,

The warmth,

The crystals,

The water.

Bringing forth a sense of healing,

Enhanced healing in every cell of your body.

And it's okay in a few moments to set this scene aside,

Knowing you can call it forth anytime you would like to,

At will.

Time to come back soon to full waking consciousness,

But bringing with you that sense of deep inner peace and healing exactly where it needs to happen in your body,

Activating the healing process to continue throughout your day and night and tomorrow.

Getting yourself ready to come back.

As I count to five now.

Number one,

Getting yourself ready.

Number two,

Remembering that swimming,

Swirling,

Wonderful feeling.

Swimming up,

Recalling then being surrounded by that white healing light,

Penetrating as it must and should to all the reasonable appropriate places in your body.

Four,

Energy now.

Returning to your hands and to your feet,

Just a little tingling perhaps,

That's fine.

Recalling everything as you come back to full waking consciousness at the number five.

Allow yourself now to awaken,

Being at peace,

Settled,

Rested,

And ready to go about your day,

Or if it's nighttime,

To just drift to a peaceful sleep that lasts the whole night long.
