Welcome to this 5 senses full moon grounding ritual.
Today I'll guide you through a simple yet profound practice to anchor yourself during the emotionally and energetically intense full moon period.
Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Either seated or standing,
Where you can be relaxed and alert.
If possible you may wish to position yourself where you can see or sense the full moon's presence,
Either through a window or outdoors.
Take 3 deep breaths to arrive fully in this moment.
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling fully through your mouth.
One more deep breath in and a long breath out.
Now let's begin our journey through the five senses.
We'll start with sight,
The sense that often connects us most directly with the moon itself.
Bring your full attention to your sense of sight.
Look around you and notice five distinct things you can see.
Take time with each one,
Observing its colors,
Shapes,
Textures and how light plays upon it.
If the moon is visible to you,
Include it as one of these five things,
Noticing its luminous quality and how it illuminates everything it touches.
Allow each of the five distinct things you are seeing to be fully seen,
As if you're seeing them for the first time.
We'll now move on to your sense of touch.
Become aware of four different sensations you can feel against your skin or within your body.
This might be the texture of your clothing,
The temperature of the air,
The surface supporting you or the feeling of your breath moving in your chest.
Feel each sensation fully,
Allowing touch to anchor you in your physical body.
Now we'll guide your awareness to your sense of hearing.
Listen carefully to identify three distinct sounds in your environment.
These might be obvious sounds or very subtle ones that emerge only as you listen more deeply.
Notice their qualities,
Their pitch,
Rhythm and how they arise and fade.
Allow these sounds to exist without labeling or judging them,
Experiencing the simple act of hearing.
Now guide your awareness to your sense of smell.
Notice two scents you can detect in this moment.
You might need to breathe in a little bit more deeply to become aware of them.
This might be the scent of the night air,
Flowers nearby,
The natural scent of your skin or something else in your environment.
Experience these scents fully,
Noticing how they might evoke memories or feelings.
Finally,
Guide your awareness to your sense of taste.
Notice one taste that's present in your mouth right now.
This might be subtle,
Perhaps the taste of your own mouth or a lingering flavor from something you ate or drank earlier on.
Experience this taste fully without needing to change it.
Now that you've moved through all five senses,
Notice how present you feel in your body.
Your awareness has methodically connected with the physical world around and within you,
Creating a natural anchor during this full moon time.
With this sense of presence,
Let's take three more deep breaths.
Inhaling deeply and exhaling,
Feeling the completeness of your presence in this moment.
Inhaling deeply and exhaling,
Feeling fully present.
One last time,
Inhaling deeply and exhaling,
Enjoying the simple pleasure of being present.
You're welcome to stay for as long as it feels good for you here.
You may wish to pause this audio and transition into your own meditation practice.
If you feel ready to conclude this practice,
Carry this sensory awareness with you as you continue with your day or your evening.
You can always return to this practice any time you need to come back to center.
Thank you for joining me for this Five Senses Full Moon Grounding Ritual.
May you move through this full moon with balance,
Presence,
And a deep connection to the wisdom of your body.
