Guided meditation with a fresh flower or houseplant.

Save this meditation for when you have a fresh flower or a houseplant available to you.

And with your flower or plant,

Hold it in your hand.

With your eyes open,

Begin to breathe deeply.

Breathing deeply in and out,

Noticing the color of your flower,

The color variations,

The way the light hits the petals.

Begin to engage with the flower or your plant,

Touching the petals,

Touching the stems.

You might silently label what you're feeling or sensing.

Maybe it's smooth,

Soft,

Fuzzy,

Cool.

Really being present here with your breath and with your flower or plant.

Notice any seemingly imperfect parts about your flower or your plant.

Maybe there's a leaf or a petal that has some type of flaw.

And rather than judge that particular aspect,

Simply notice it.

Noticing the shape of it,

The color of it,

And witnessing the way that your mind wants to label it or categorize it as imperfect or not the way we quote think it should be.

Just noticing that,

Breathing deeply,

And then invite in a sense of curiosity.

Why is the flower the way that it is?

Why does it look like that?

Why does it have those markings on it?

What is it about this flower that it came to be this way and it came to be here with us now?

Just getting curious with your eyes open and breathing deeply.

And letting that particular aspect of the practice go by.

And you're invited to close your eyes.

And with your eyes closed,

Take some deep breaths in and out.

Turn your awareness to yourself now.

Noticing with curiosity and without judgment where you're at in this present moment.

Being present here now with your body,

Your mind,

Your heart.

And on the next exhale,

Release any tension you're holding in your body.

Feeling the stress melt away.

Feeling the tension release.

Relax your shoulders,

Relax your face.

Let your tongue fall from the roof of your mouth.

Breathing deeply.

And then turn your awareness to your flower or plant.

Noticing with your eyes closed its energy,

Where it is in relation to yourself and your body.

Just noticing how it feels here in this moment now.

Push away any thoughts that are coming up.

You might notice them and let them pass by.

See if you can let any thoughts that come up pass on by.

Simply notice them and release them.

Breathing deeply.

And bring your awareness to both now.

Both yourself and this piece of nature that you're holding.

Gathering an awareness of you and the flower.

You and your plant.

Here now together.

Sensing into that energy and breathing deeply.

There's no need to define it or need to understand it.

For now you're simply being present with yourself and with your flower.

Breathing deeply.

And if it feels right,

You can go ahead and open yourself up to any messages that your plant or your flower wants to send you.

Being open to receiving any message or guidance from the flower.

And then when you're ready,

You can say out loud or silently,

What would you like me to realize right now?

What would you like me to realize right now and see what comes through?

Being open to whatever is meant to come through,

Whatever wants to come through.

What would you like me to realize right now?

And bringing that same curiosity that you had earlier in the meditation,

Bringing the curiosity to that.

What does that feel like?

What does that mean?

What would that look like in my life?

How would I be if I were to embody that now?

What would I do?

What would I say?

Being open to exploring this with yourself and with your flower and plant here with you and to support you.

Breathing deeply,

Exploring,

Being open.

And then tucking this realization within you and your heart to carry forward if you'd like to.

Oftentimes our flowers or plants have messages for us that we can decide what to do with.

Is this something that was helpful for you?

If so,

Go ahead and tuck it into your heart for now to carry with you.

And keep breathing deeply here now with your flower.

And with your eyes closed,

Bring your awareness once again to yourself,

Your physical body sitting here,

Laying here.

And also bringing your awareness back to your flower or your plant.

Taking a few more deep breaths.

And when you're ready,

Opening your eyes and looking at your flower or plant once again,

Particularly the area that you were focusing on before that may be different or imperfect.

Noticing and being present here with your flower or plant.

And sending some gratitude from your heart to this piece of nature.

And feel the gratitude from the flower coming back to you as well.

Gratitude to you for taking this time to be present with yourself,

To be present with a flower or a plant.

And to be in this moment with your breath,

With yourself,

With all of who you are.

And to end the meditation,

Go ahead and look around your room,

Taking back in the surroundings,

Noticing objects,

Colors,

Grounding yourself back into the moment.

Placing your flower or plant somewhere.

And moving forward with your day.

Thanks for being here.
