Hello,

My name is Tracy Seawright and today I will be reading you the story,

The Sister That Won't Stop Talking.

If you have a sister and she won't stop talking,

This is the story for you.

The Sister That Won't Stop Talking by Tracy Seawright.

Hi,

My name is Jenny and I have a problem.

I have a big problem.

For you see,

I have this sister and this sister of mine,

She won't stop talking.

I'm serious.

She never stops.

I should know because I share a room with her.

I don't even think she stops to breathe.

First thing in the morning,

Before I'm even out of bed,

She starts talking.

I don't even have my eyes open yet and I can still hear her.

She talks about what she's going to wear.

She talks about her dolls.

She talks about birthday parties and about the story we read last night.

She never stops.

Even if I cover my ears with my stuffed animals,

I can still hear her.

If I put all my covers over me and pretend I'm not there,

She keeps talking.

I don't think my sister is very good at taking hints.

Now when I get out of bed,

She follows me even when I run.

She talks about the movie we just saw.

She talks about her best friend Lauren.

Sometimes I go into the bathroom and lock the door.

Guess what?

She keeps talking right through the door.

She sits there and talks and talks.

She keeps talking and talking.

She will not stop.

Sometimes I turn the shower on just to get some peace and quiet,

But I can still hear her.

She asks me what I'm doing.

She asks me if I'm brushing my teeth.

She asks me while the shower is running.

I just tell her to leave me alone.

I ask her to give me a break.

I tell her to go,

But she keeps on talking.

I just give up and unlock the door.

When I go back to our room,

She talks while I'm getting dressed.

She talks and asks me about my socks and pants.

She tells me I don't match.

She tells me to hurry up.

I tell her to stop and mind her own business,

But she never listens.

She's too busy talking.

When I leave our room and head down to the kitchen,

She follows close behind.

She's still talking.

She talks while I eat my breakfast,

And I can still hear her talking even though I asked my mom to buy me the crunchiest cereal on earth.

I put more and more cereal in my mouth.

Crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch.

Oh,

I can still hear her.

Oh,

She tells me I look like a squirrel with all the cereal in my mouth.

She tells me I'm chewing too fast.

She says I'm making a mess.

She tells me I'm eating all the cereal and hogging all the milk.

Oh,

She drives me crazy.

My mom thinks she's adorable.

My older sister,

Brittany,

Thinks she's great.

My brother,

Michael,

Thinks she's cute.

Well,

I think she's a talking machine,

And I don't know why my mom just doesn't send her to China.

When we get on the bus for school,

She sits right behind me.

I can still hear her.

She doesn't stop talking the whole ride to school.

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

I tell her to be quiet.

I tell her to stop.

I tell her to zip it,

But she's still talking.

I asked our bus driver,

Mrs.

Berkkeben,

To make her stop.

The bus driver looks at my sister and said,

Oh,

She's so sweet.

Well,

I think that bus driver needs her eyes checked.

No,

You would think I would get a break at school.

I would have my peace and quiet.

No,

I can't.

I can still hear her.

I hear her at lunch at the cafeteria.

I think she just asked the lunch lady for more pudding.

Uh oh,

I think she just asked her friend Lauren to come sit by her.

I think she is talking to Lauren about going swimming.

Oh,

I can't believe I can still hear her,

Even though she sits all the way across the room with the first graders.

Can you hear her?

When we're outside at recess,

I can still hear her.

I hear her talking about the swings.

I hear her talking about kickball.

I hear her telling somebody what kind of pajamas I wear to bed.

How dare she tell anyone about my kiddie pajamas.

Can you believe that?

Even with the 50 screaming kids and million cars driving by,

I can still hear her.

I told you she doesn't stop.

Sometimes when I'm in my classroom and my class is really quiet,

Taking a test,

I can hear her.

Did you hear that?

She said she needs a pencil.

Or was that a marker?

Uh oh,

I think she forgot her homework now.

Oh,

I think she's asking the teacher if she can go to the bathroom.

Oh,

Unbelievable.

I can hear her all the way from the second floor and she's on the first.

Oh,

I wish her teacher could keep her quiet.

She should be in time out.

They need to send her to the office.

Her teacher thinks she's a shining star.

Our principal,

Mr.

King,

Said she's fine and I need to get back to class.

Well,

I think she's a chatterbox and needs to go to detention,

But they won't listen.

When my mom picks us up from school,

Don't even get me started.

She won't stop talking the whole ride home.

She talks about her teacher.

She talks about her friends.

She talks about what she did for lunch.

She talks about what she has for homework.

And she talks about her library books and goes on and on and on.

I can't get a word in edgewise.

I ask my mother to make her stop.

My mom says I'm being overdramatic.

I ask my older sister to make her stop.

She tells me to calm down.

I ask my brother to make her stop.

He told me to buy earplugs.

Well,

When we're finally home,

She still keeps talking.

You have no idea what I have to put up with.

You have no idea how my ears are ringing.

Okay,

Just see for yourself.

Just listen.

Here,

Here she is.

Here,

Jessica.

This is her.

This is my sister,

Jessica.

Okay,

Jessica,

Talk.

Go ahead.

Go ahead.

Tell everyone what you have to say.

Go on.

Go on.

Tell them about your day.

Go on.

Tell them.

Okay.

Anytime now.

Start talking.

Are you going to talk?

What are you waiting for?

Are you kidding me?

Are you kidding me?

You're not talking?

What's wrong with you?

Now?

Now?

Now you don't talk?

I can't believe this.

Now you're quiet?

Oh,

Talk.

Oh,

Okay,

Jessica.

That's it.

I'm leaving.

I've had it.

Oh,

See?

See what I have to deal with?

I have a sister and she won't stop talking.

And this is the conclusion of our story,

The Sister That Won't Stop Talking,

By Tracey Wright.
