Find a comfortable position.
Relax the jaw.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Rest your hands wherever they feel natural.
Gently lower your gaze or close your eyes.
Bring your attention to your breath.
No need to change it.
Just notice.
Inhale through the nose.
And exhale through the mouth.
Inhale.
And exhale.
Again,
Inhale.
And exhale.
Let your body begin to settle.
Notice any contact points,
Your feet,
Your seat,
The support beneath you.
When your mind begins to wander,
Gently guide it back to your breath.
Today we are reflecting on wisdom.
Wisdom is the ability to see reality clearly without adding,
Without subtracting,
Without distortion.
Imagine an owl,
Still,
Observant,
Quietly aware.
The owl does not rush to react.
It watches,
Listens,
And perceives what is actually there.
Wisdom allows us to see ourselves and others as we truly are,
Not through the lens of fear,
Assumptions,
Or past experiences.
And from this place of clarity,
Compassion naturally follows.
Because without wisdom,
When reality becomes distorted or twisted,
It becomes much more difficult to respond with care.
So today we explore what it would feel like to see clearly.
Bring your awareness back to your breath.
Now,
Gently begin to imagine a quiet,
Still environment.
Perhaps it's dusk,
Early night.
The air is calm.
And in this space,
There is an owl.
See the owl perched quietly.
Notice its stillness,
Its presence,
Its awareness.
The owl is not tense.
It simply observes.
Take a moment to connect with this image.
Now,
Gently begin to imagine that this quality of the owl exists within you.
A part of you that can observe without immediately reacting,
Without judgment,
Just noticing.
Bring your awareness inward.
Notice your thoughts as if you are the owl watching from a distance.
No need to change them.
Just observe.
Thoughts may come and go like movement in the night.
Now,
Notice your emotions,
Again,
From this place of quiet observation.
Not pushing them away,
Not getting lost in them,
Just seeing them as they are.
Ask yourself gently.
What is actually here right now?
Not the story,
Not the interpretation,
But the direct experience.
Notice sensations in your body.
Where do you feel tension?
Where do you feel openness?
Stay with what is real and present.
This is wisdom.
The ability to stay with reality as it is.
And from here,
Notice what begins to shift.
When you are not fighting reality,
When you are not distorting or judging it,
Is there a little more space,
A little more softness?
Now notice,
When I see clearly,
Does compassion feel more available?
Because when we see reality,
We begin to understand.
And understanding opens the door to compassion for yourself and for others.
Take a few slow breaths here.
Rest in this place of awareness.
Gently ask yourself,
What does wisdom mean to me?
And how might seeing clearly change the way I relate to myself and others?
Begin to bring awareness back to your body.
Notice your breath,
Your surroundings.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.
If your eyes are closed,
Softly open them.
As you move into the rest of your day,
See if you can carry this quality of the owl with you,
A quiet awareness,
A willingness to see clearly.
May we develop the wisdom to see reality as it is.
May that clarity guide us toward deeper compassion for ourselves and others.
And may we move through the world with both clarity and care.
