The beautiful thing about having walked a path that didn't feel like my own is that I now have a roadmap for this path.
I know the arduous challenges of scaling its mountains.
I know the long,
Lonely roads through its valleys.
I also know the lush,
Green oasis where you can drink the cool waters of external approval.
Sadly,
This never quenches the thirst for long and soon it becomes clear that you are sinking from a mirage.
So the challenge is to become intimately acquainted with the fork in the road that reads truth or looks right to everyone else.
The wonderful thing is that you can return to this fork in the road as many times as you need and you can always choose to start walking the path of truth all over again.
I don't have a map for the path of truth which is both scary and exhilarating.
Taking these first steps can feel unnatural after years of contorting and camouflaging to remain safe and hidden.
Being truly seen for your own uniqueness and daring to live with honest,
Bold integrity is terrifying and can leave you feeling exposed.
My wish for you is that you dare to live boldly,
Speak bravely and show up with vulnerability for the sake of being fully alive.
This is no small task but your fierce allegiance to yourself is your birthright.
I have learned that you can't be forever safe,
Comfortable,
Universally likeable and also live a full life,
A life of integrity.
The life of integrity requires us to get used to feeling every emotional weather system against our bare skin,
To become intimate with each season and trust that you were born for this.
