Healing Self-Worth (Talk, Journaling Exercise & Meditation)
by Jamie Wozny
In this replay of a Talk, Journaling, Meditation, Jamie points to your innate, unique, always present self-worth. If we are told we aren't enough, which is common in today's world, we miss the sparkle that's always there no matter the label we wear. We try to find it "out there" in the world, our bodies, things we have. But we must find it "in here", the only place it can live. It's the presence that shines through our eyes. She points us there. You'll listen, you'll journal, and you'll reflect.

Okay,
So our,
So I've even been saying this for years and I fully understood it on my own.
I've been saying our worth,
Our value,
Our use on this planet is our presence.
Meaning it isn't the job,
It isn't the amount of money,
It isn't our titles,
It isn't what we do,
But it's who we are before our personality,
Before our pains and our traumas and all of those things.
It's our presence.
And I think that was a little bit even too,
And I got that,
But it was a little too heady for me still.
Where it was like,
Okay,
I get that,
But then what the hell is my presence?
Like what?
And this exercise came through and I went,
Oh,
That's my presence,
Which is what I want to share with you.
So if you guys have a pen,
Journal,
Grab your phone notes,
Just type in your computer in front of you,
Pull up a word document.
But let me explain it to you first,
What we're going to do,
And then we're going to journal for a minute.
So we're going to,
We're going to write for just a minute,
Where do I place my worth outside of ourself,
Outside of myself?
So to just get an idea.
So my little list I just wrote worth outside of myself,
Trying to be the best,
How many people are on my mailing list,
Really letting you guys into my head right now.
Health,
Followers,
Things like that.
You know,
Our mind sneaks in everywhere.
And if somebody else that's similar to me has more of this,
More of that,
Then I go,
Oh my God,
I'm not making an impact.
I'm not valuable.
All the poo,
Poo,
Poo.
So we're going to see where it sneaks in for us because the way that our ego wins is in our ignorance.
And so a lot of people,
You guys aren't because you're here,
Are afraid to look because we go,
Oh,
There's so much shame around seeing this stuff.
But I go,
No,
This is amazing.
This is my safety.
Now that I can see,
Because I just wrote it down,
Where I place my value outside of myself,
My worth,
My,
I will not be loved unless I do these things,
I will not be liked given what I want unless I do these things.
Now when we go through life,
We can go,
Oh,
Wait,
And not in a mean way,
In a compassionate way.
Oh,
There's that thing.
That's where my ego tries to get me.
And it's going to feel awful inside,
But I'm going to choose differently.
So we're going to just get a sense of where it plays out.
And then what I did,
And this is super,
Like you can do different lists if you want,
But this is just to give you an idea.
So I wrote down,
And hold these loosely,
You guys,
For this exercise,
Because this isn't in a judgmental way.
This is for the exercise way.
I wrote down rich and poor,
Okay?
And then I put a little line,
So rich and poor and a little line.
And then on this side,
This is messy.
I don't even know if you can see this.
But I put down four jobs.
So if for some reason Jamie was,
I put down,
I just picked four random jobs,
Teacher,
Lawyer,
Janitor,
And accountant.
So just pick four random jobs.
It could be one that you're doing now,
And it could be another three,
Or four completely random jobs,
And then rich and poor and a separate thing.
And I want you to just use your imagination and imagine that you are that thing,
Okay?
What part of you would still be there when you're a teacher,
And when you're a lawyer,
And when you're a janitor,
And when you're an accountant?
Who would you be in all of those outfits?
Who would you be whether you were poor or whether you were rich?
And maybe you've had these situations in your life where you went from having no money to a lot of money,
Or you went from having a lot of money to less money.
And I promise you,
And it's called your essence,
There are little things that,
And sometimes we can ask those closest to us to assist us in this exercise,
But there are little things that are just you,
That shine through you no matter how many followers you have,
No matter what part of your career you're in,
No matter whether you're a mother or a teenager,
Or I'm just picking some labels,
Or a teacher or a janitor or an accountant,
Or wherever it is that we place our worth.
What is a constant in you that stays the same?
So I'll give you some examples.
Like mine,
And I,
You know,
It's crazy,
I didn't even realize it about myself till I looked.
I'm like,
What is the energy you bring to your classes?
And the word that came through for me was playful.
And like,
You're always like,
You like to have,
And it isn't funny,
Like it may,
Maybe it is sometimes,
But like,
It's just like,
Lighthearted and playful,
And loving.
And I thought,
Oh,
My God,
You would bring that you would bring that like,
Pizzazz to the law room,
Or if you were a janitor,
And you can't you care,
Jamie,
And so you care so much about your job,
If you were a janitor,
Or if you were a lawyer.
And so I wrote,
I wrote these things down,
That's your worth.
That's your value.
So that is like,
Mind blown.
When when I've been hearing for years and even teaching,
Your purpose on this planet is your presence.
Yes,
We change storefronts.
So you know,
Mine used to be an actress.
Now it's a teacher and healer and coach and all of these things.
The universe,
My soul,
Whatever we want to call it,
Words aren't important guides me to do things.
So we're going to create and do things in life.
But that's not the part that's making the impact.
It's the it's the essence.
And it's,
It's the part that's underneath that's coming through.
Because if I was over here just saying to you,
This is what self worth is,
And it was like dead energy,
You,
You probably would be lost.
So you feel that when you go around and you're like,
Wow,
I bump into people's essences.
But it's so freeing when you go,
I can have a lot of money if I want,
I can create money,
I can have a job if I want,
There's no shame in that.
But I'm not doing it to fill a gaping wound.
I'm not doing it because I don't think I'm worthy and deserving deserving of love and that there is no use or purpose to me.
My purpose is to bring a playful,
Loving spirit to whatever storefront I'm in,
At the Thanksgiving table or in Trader Joe's or with you guys,
You know.
And and there's a there is a seat,
I can't even think of the word,
But there is a resting place in you.
When you go,
Oh my God,
I can stop trying to manipulate the outside world so that people say I'm good enough because that's not where it lives.
You know,
You you it's your essence and you have a unique one.
So hopefully this is resonating.
Claudia,
You bring love and joy.
That's what I see and feel.
Oh,
Thank you.
That's really sweet.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that.
So let's let's see what let's see what your essence what your worth is,
What your value is,
What you're bringing to this planet.
And that's what that's what we mean by you're enough,
You're enough,
You're enough,
You're enough,
You're enough.
So if you're sick,
If you're starting out at a job,
If you're going through a divorce,
If you're doing amazing at your job,
If you're rich,
If you're poor,
If you're going through an ascension,
I'm still going to be Jamie.
And I'm still going to bring that light and that gift no matter what.
And so are you in your value and your worth.
So so so that's what it means where it's like,
Cool,
I get to do life.
But I'm enough as I am now.
Okay,
So let's journal for five minutes.
And I'm going to run run us through this quick.
So I want you guys just to really tune into your heart space.
You can type on your phone,
And you know the answers.
Or you can,
You know,
Write in your journal or whatever.
So let's just take a minute and think about the biggest areas for you where you place worth outside of yourself.
Where do you try to get external validation from things beyond you?
Where are you desperate to be seen?
Where does it hurt when you don't have it?
Your body that's really common for women body,
Job,
Bank account.
And I invite you if this lesson touches your heart,
Take extra time after this with your journal and really get real with yourself to see so that you can be aware of this as the week moves on,
You don't fall victim to it.
Okay,
Knowing you can come back to this,
This is just to give you a sense.
So I want you to let's just do these lists.
And again,
Remember,
If you had said your body,
I want you to,
And you can do this now if you want.
So trust your inner wisdom because there's no correct way with this exercise.
If you said body in a place where you place your worth outside of yourself,
Maybe do like different versions of your body,
Muscular body,
Skinny body,
Healthy body,
Sick body,
Like what part of you is the same regardless of how your body changes.
Or you can use mine you can do rich and poor.
So just write these two columns down.
Maybe there's a couple things on your list.
A little bit of followers,
A lot of followers,
Getting compliments from people,
No compliments,
Whatever it is.
Just a couple things because for time.
And then let's write down some jobs because this is just a fun one.
Maybe you write your job down and then I want you just to pick three random jobs that could pop into your head.
A florist,
Dentist,
Stock trader.
And I'm gonna give you the next three minutes and I want you to just tune in and get real with yourself.
Who would be looking through my eyes?
Who would be showing up in each of these costumes?
And it's okay,
You might not have thought these things about yourself for a while so if you have to go into your kid self I promise you she and he is still there.
Loving,
Silly,
Fun,
Honest,
Good listener,
Hard worker,
Dedicated,
Passionate,
Empathetic.
Who is there?
Rich,
Poor,
All the bodies,
All the jobs.
Go ahead and journal for the next three minutes.
Have fun.
So And knowing that you can come back to this later,
Maybe you found something that surprised you.
You're like,
Wow,
This is trippy.
I am the same even in the changing external form.
This is your soul.
This is your essence.
This is your value.
This is your worth.
This is your purpose on the planet.
And then we get to do really cool things.
But this is the important part.
And this will never leave you.
No matter how much pain and trauma you've been in your life,
Because I don't even need to know you to know that you have,
This has never gone away.
Maybe it is covered over sometimes,
But it always comes back to you are.
So go ahead and remembering you can come back to this.
Close your eyes,
Lay down,
Put your music on and let's meditate.
I think sometimes like it's funny,
We're in our own head so we don't get to see our own gifts.
And the pain of our thinking sometimes speaks a little bit louder.
So unless we have eyes for it,
We're like,
No,
It's not there.
I'm bad.
I'm unwanted.
I'm not worthy and deserving of love.
But that is just not true.
We're worthy and deserving of love even if we are imperfect because we're not supposed to be perfect.
The sun shines regardless of how much money we have and how good we are and how good our grades are.
Sun gives us sun anyway.
So get cozy,
Settle in and let yourself invite all of you into this meditation.
I call back all of my own energy.
Begin to notice the connection between your physical body and the ground.
All those tiny points of contact.
Start to deepen the inhale and the exhale,
Relaxing the body.
Start to let the physical body soften.
Eyes,
Lips.
Let your palms relax.
Shoulders.
Lower back,
Back of the knees.
Take an inhale,
Take an exhale and release the body down,
Down into the ground.
And allow your awareness to settle into your heart space.
As we intend to let go of the pain,
Let it settle into your heart space.
And I'm sorry I didn't know your value.
Thank you for reminding me tonight.
Please forgive me for paying attention to my thinking more than my knowing.
I didn't know where to look.
And I'm sorry you've been in so much pain.
I love you.
I'm sorry I believed I was not valuable.
I no longer believe that I'm not valuable.
I might have to spend a little more time looking,
But it's right here in front of my face.
No matter what I do,
The money I have,
The age I am,
The body that I'm in,
There is a part of me,
A spark,
A light that never fades.
This is where I'm meant to look.
I've been trying to find it in the physical with no luck.
It doesn't live there.
Maybe it lives here?
No.
Here?
No.
And you get tired.
And so tonight you can rest.
I choose to see in my life where my self worth peaks its head in my mind,
Where my mind places it outside of my presence.
And I know now that I am lovable because I am alive.
That doesn't mean everybody has to love me.
It just means I'm lovable,
Even in my imperfections.
I have value.
I have worth.
Even if others couldn't see it,
It doesn't mean that it's not there.
It just means they didn't have eyes for it.
And we're in an incredibly distorted perception of what worth is.
So I take my power back tonight and I scan my inner world for a moment and I go,
Wow,
You've always been these things.
Maybe it was just one thing that came to you.
You've always been this.
This is you.
And you begin to find her.
You begin to find him.
And you meet again and you reunite after years.
I'm sorry I was looking out there.
You've been in here all along.
And you feel this expansion and love and reunion and home and simplicity.
This is me.
This is my gift in my job,
In my life,
With my family.
This is enough.
I bring this with me wherever I go in the world.
My purpose isn't my job.
My purpose is my presence.
I just needed to know where to look.
So I let go of trying so hard.
I settle a little bit deeper within and my body rests even more.
And I breathe easy.
As I start to allow myself to settle into my enoughness,
As I am human,
Imperfect,
Filled with learning and mistakes,
Beauty,
Dark,
That is enough.
Because your humanity cannot ruin your divinity.
As best as you can,
You let yourself almost float back.
It's like you've lifted your hands up and you're doing this trust fall and you lean back into the most coziest of spaces.
Your value,
Your light,
The part that never disappears,
Just maybe out of sight from your brain.
You are not the exception to the rule.
Tonight I ask to surrender all the programs that I may have in my mind and misunderstandings around my own value and worth and lovability.
May these be corrected by source,
Change my perceptions from fear to love,
Bring in the books and the teachers and the conversations so that I can feel in my bones the love that I am,
The gift that I am.
Not in an egoic sense,
But in a loving sense.
Surrender up your fears,
Ask to be healed.
And then fall back.
Into your value,
Into your worth.
Into the loving,
Silly,
Playful,
Kind,
Dedicated,
Strong,
Brave,
Resilient,
Compassionate,
Patient,
Human that you are.
Whatever it is for you,
Sit in that,
Let yourself expand in that for a moment.
The brain takes over and now we're letting the heart take over.
I'm gonna bathe in my worth,
Allow it,
Give it permission,
See it,
Welcome it.
I'm rest here for a few breaths.
It's all mine now.
It's almost like you're settling into this cloud,
This pillow of value and worth,
This feeling of this is enough,
This is my purpose.
Yes,
I will wear different suits in my life,
But this is what shines through my eyes,
This is permanent.
I can rest here now,
This can be enough now,
I can give up the struggle and the fight now,
I can breathe here and be here now.
Then along the same lines,
It'll be nothing at all tonight.
Help!
Help!
Help!
Help!
Help!
Help!
I make it my mission to know my worth.
I refuse to buy in to the thoughts of those around me.
I become independent and not dependent on others opinions.
Yet I start to find teachings like this and articles and books that teach me where to look.
And then this energy expands in me and I feel unstoppable and alive as I remember who I am,
My value.
That no matter what I do and where I go and how old I get and how much my body changes,
I am valuable.
I am lovable.
I am divine in a body.
And that is enough.
It's the sun that's peeking through the trees,
Not the trees.
The sun makes the difference.
The sun changes lives,
Yours and mine.
And as you feel ready,
Just slowly starting to let your awareness notice the connection between the physical body and the ground,
The furniture.
Noticing all of those tiny points of contact.
Noticing the space that your body occupies in space.
Letting your awareness rest right behind your eyes,
Planted inside of your body.
On the furniture.
In the room.
On the earth.
In the body.
Deepening the breath.
Deepening the breath.
One more deep breath.
And starting to stretch or move any parts of your body that feel ready to stretch or move as you slowly begin to open up your eyes whenever you feel ready.

I felt that God spoke to me through you. I needed to hear this.
