Today,
We talk about interconnectedness and how it can help us develop compassion for ourselves and others.
We will finish with a mantra to seal the session.
Take a position as comfortable as you can.
Now take a deep breath in and roll that breath all the way down to the sole of your feet.
Again and exhale the breath all the way down.
Do you feel the relaxation?
When we think of connectedness,
We think being physically and emotionally attached to people we love,
An invisible bond that we need.
Unconnectedness allows us to understand how interlinked we are with all sentient and non-sentient beings,
Nature and the universe.
It helps to develop our compassion for all forms of life,
And it brings joy and serenity into our hearts.
That is why Buddhists meditate a lot on loving-kindness and compassion,
Where they visualize all beings,
Animals and nature as one.
It is even easier to understand today,
With the COVID-19,
That we are more connected than we've ever imagined,
And how we influence each other.
Compassion spreads the same way from a person to another and another and more.
We can choose between influencing others negatively or positively.
The quality of our moods and emotions determine the type of influence that we have on others.
How would you like to influence people?
If you are angry or loving,
It will spread different messages and interfere differently in other people's lives.
I propose to influence all beings with love and compassion.
Close your eyes and just put your awareness on your breathing.
The mechanism.
The air that fills your lungs.
Your rib cage is rising and falling.
Your abdomen is rising and falling.
Rise and fall.
Let's take a minute to center ourselves.
Trust that those thoughts go away for a while,
Dissipating them like clouds in the sky.
Imagine all the people you love.
Visualize them as they form a circle around you.
If you place your hand on your heart,
You can feel this warm and lovely sensation of connection,
Of love.
Imagine them smiling at you and you at them.
What are your sensations and where in your body?
What will they may feel when they get tired?
Now add all the people you appreciate into the circle and meditate on them smiling at you and you add them.
Feel the interconnectedness.
We need each other.
We need to feel connected.
When you put your hand on your heart and think of someone,
You are connecting with them on a subtle level.
You don't need to be in the same room to feel compassion and love.
Now add the people that perhaps you lost or you don't talk to anymore due to misunderstanding but that you miss.
You have compassion for them.
You are connected.
Now add your pets and other animals in your circle.
How lovable they are.
Can you feel it?
How good You you Now we will end with a mantra.
We hear a bell at the end of the session I Am connected to others to myself and the universe with love and compassion I am connected to others to myself and the universe with love and compassion You You You You You I am connected to others to myself and the universe with love and compassion Namaste You You You
