Begin by finding a quiet comfortable space.

You can sit or lie down,

Allow your body to settle and close your eyes,

Let the outside world fade.

This is your time to return to your centre,

To awaken.

Take a deep breath in and gently exhale.

Again inhale deeply and release.

Let your breath begin to slow,

Like a calming wind moving through the leaves.

Let yourself arrive fully in this moment.

Now bring your attention to the base of your spine.

Imagine roots beginning to grow from your body,

Down into the earth,

Deep and wide.

Feel them anchoring you,

Stable,

Secure,

Ancient.

With every breath those roots go deeper,

Connecting you to the earth's wisdom,

To the strength of all who have come before you.

You are grounded,

You are held,

You belong here.

Now,

Imagine your spine as the trunk of a great tree,

Strong,

Steady,

Unshakable.

Your body rises tall and rooted,

Reaching up towards the sky.

From the top of your head,

Imagine branches extending gracefully upward,

Toward the light.

They stretch,

They expand,

They receive the sun,

The stars,

The cosmos.

You are the tree,

Your roots go deep,

Your branches reach high.

You are the bridge between earth and sky,

Between the known and the infinite.

Now feel a soft golden light begin to rise within you.

From your roots,

Up through your trunk,

Through your heart,

Your throat and into your crown.

This is the light of awakening,

It is peace,

It is wisdom,

It is truth.

It flows through you effortlessly,

Unlocking clarity,

Stillness and purpose.

Stay here for a few breaths.

Breathe in light and breathe out anything you're ready to release.

Now gently bring your awareness back to your body.

Feel your fingers and toes,

Feel the space around you.

Know that the tree of awakening lives within you and you can return to it at any time.

Take one last deep breath in and slowly exhale.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes.

You are awake,

You are grounded and you are growing.
