Find yourself a comfortable seat where you can sit upright and perhaps your lower back is supported.
Just be sure your head and neck aren't leaning against anything.
This may be on the floor,
On a cushion,
On a sofa or chair.
Just allow yourself to settle in.
Take a big breath in and fill all the way up and a big long exhale out.
Once more just like that.
Big inhalation in,
Fill all the way up,
Hold it for a moment and as you exhale let that just settle your body into your seat.
One final time just like that.
Make this the biggest breath yet.
Fill all the way up,
Up,
Up,
Up,
Up,
Hold at the top and release long exhalation.
Let it go.
Let everything go and sink deeper down.
Be heavy.
Let your brow relax,
Your jaw relax,
Your shoulders relax,
Your hands,
Your buttocks,
Your hips,
Your belly,
Your knees and your feet.
In this meditation we will take a few moments just to tune in to what's going on inside of us.
So often we need to keep racing through our days and hide the emotions that are swirling within and in times we can suppress those emotions and they build up and up and up until they manifest as physical ailments,
Disease or outbursts and almost volcanic eruptions of emotions.
So this type of practice can help process emotions and complete their cycles closer to the moment that they arise and mitigate this unhealthy build-up and having to deal with them later.
So allow your attention to move through your throat down the center channel of your body all the way to the bottom of your belly and just give that space permission to relax.
See if it can loosen,
Deflate,
Let it hang heavy.
No need to suck anything in and then just notice what sensations you feel down there.
Maybe it's a texture or thoughts are coming up,
Colors.
Just notice anything that's going on there today for you in this moment and see if you can let go of the labels.
Our emotions arise from this place at the very bottom of our belly and all of them are equal.
From this place none of them are good or bad.
They're purely energy in motion.
Emotions.
And they carry within their energy very important vital information that makes its way all the way up to our brain to transfer into action,
Into words,
Into behavior.
It's a signal carrying a message about how something is or isn't in alignment with our values.
If you're feeling anger or frustration,
Resentment,
Ask yourself what value is that emotion revealing?
What value is that emotion attached to?
And see if you can loosen the grip on any judgment of that being good or bad because all emotions are equal.
We may have some that are more desirable and others less desirable and that's completely okay.
They are all so important and through our days we can shift emotional states and carry multiple emotions at once in any moment.
It's important that we let go from any stories and we're able to sink down into this place in the pit of your belly to really connect with your emotions.
Connect with the vital information they're bringing you and from that place of love and wisdom and deep connection with your true being that sits beneath any conditioning and stress and stories,
False identities can be expressed.
Emotions are attached to our spirit,
Our soul.
We must listen to them and learn how to channel and express them through our hearts.
When any emotions are allowed to pass through our hearts before expressing as a thought,
A word,
An action,
An intention,
We don't need to worry about how things will play out because everything is translated by our heart into the language of love.
So spend a few more moments here just noticing what's moving inside of you,
What's asking to be completed,
Be released and see if you can ask and inquire what does it need to complete?
What does it need to be expressed?
How can I best serve this moment?
How can I best serve this emotion?
And trust that your inner wisdom will give you exactly the answers that you need.
Your thinking mind can take a back seat here.
Let the wisdom and the answers rise up from your belly,
Transfer through your chest and there settle into your thinking mind so that you can indeed take action to serve these emotions in the highest purest way that you can.
I invite you to sit here a bit longer if you have the time and still feel the need to do this emotional listening exercise.
Otherwise you can begin to deepen your breath and as you consciously deepen your breath bring your awareness into your body and notice how it's feeling.
Notice where your hands are in space.
Just begin to wriggle your fingers and your toes,
Roll your shoulders and your neck,
Take a big sigh,
Let everything go.
Thank yourself for this time you've taken to to turn inwards and listen to the information that's rising within.
And now feel empowered and confident that you can take that inner wisdom and information and channel it beyond your physical body into the world relationships around you for the rest of today this week and set that intention for yourself as you begin to slowly open your eyes and finally bring your awareness back into the physical space that you're in.
