Welcome to this meditation for helping you ground yourself.
Go ahead and find a comfortable seat,
Whether that's sitting on the ground or sitting on the edge of a chair or sofa.
You may like to have your lower back supported if that's more comfortable for you.
You can allow your hands to rest wherever is most comfortable.
And when you're ready,
You can slowly allow your eyelids to become heavy and fall down.
You can choose to either close them fully or if you prefer,
You can close them about 90 percent.
Just so you have some fuzzy light entering the crack.
And just allow your forehead and your eyebrows to drop down.
Your jaw to drop down.
And your shoulders to drop down.
Allow your belly to drop down.
Your seat to drop down.
Without moving,
Can you feel where you're making contact with the surface beneath you?
And from that place,
Imagine a thin thread tunneling through the floor below,
Maybe through many floors,
All the way to the Earth's crust,
Where it continues to thread and tunnel down and it begins to get warmer.
You move into the molten layers of the Earth's mantle all the way into its core.
There in the core of the center of the Earth is this fiery,
Molten orange-red liquid.
And you can feel the energy contained in the center of this Earth that we live upon.
And you draw up through that thread,
This fiery orange liquid.
It moves all the way up through the layers of the Earth,
Through the crust of the Earth,
Through the ground and whatever layers of the building beneath you lie,
All the way to the center of your seat,
Where it then continues to move through your pelvis,
Through the center of your torso,
Through the middle of your chest,
Through the center of your throat,
All the way up to the middle of your head,
Where you feel that warmth expand,
That energy expand and seep into all corners of your body,
Expanding through your entire brain and your head,
Throughout your entire chest and torso,
Into your arms,
All the way down into your fingertips,
Through the bottom of your belly,
Down through your legs,
To your feet,
All the way to your toes.
Warm,
Fiery orange liquid filling your entire body now.
And then it continues to flow through that thread that's still attached to the core of the Earth as it draws up the energy,
Connecting you with the center of this Earth that we live upon,
That we draw our nourishment from,
Our food from,
The plants that conduct photosynthesis,
That gives us the air to breathe and live from.
We're reminded of this deep-rooted connection with the Earth and all that it offers us.
And take a big breath.
And with that,
Just become aware of how your body is feeling.
Notice the temperature,
The colors,
Any messages that are coming up.
Allow yourself to just surrender and fall into gravity's embrace.
Let your shoulders drop down maybe a centimeter more.
And you can seal off that thread connected with the Earth's core,
Extending gratitude for the energy that you've drawn from the Earth and the sense of connection and grounding down.
And by sealing off that thread,
You are containing whatever you've gained,
Whatever energy reset you've experienced.
You're just preserving that and holding it within so that you can carry it into the rest of your day.
When you're ready,
You can take another big breath in,
Clenching your fists and squeezing up your face.
And as you exhale,
Just letting it all release,
Noticing where your body is in space.
And you can bring some movement into your body now in whatever way feels natural and right for you.
Begin to wake up into your physical body as you peel back the curtains of your eyes,
Allowing your eyelids to slowly flutter open and you bring your awareness back into the physical space that you're in.
May you feel grounded for the rest of your day,
Your evening,
Your week.
Remember the sensation that you felt just now and return to this practice whenever you need.
