I always like to start by taking three deep breaths in,
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
Just kind of reminds you that you are breathing.
We do it all the time but we forget.
Go ahead and just start to feel if you're sitting just start to feel the weight of your body being pulled into the earth.
Just how reassuring it is to have this shared experience of gravity connecting us to Mother Earth.
Start to feel the weight of your arms and your legs.
Go ahead and set some kind of visual connection so a grounding cord between your body.
Make it as wide as your hips.
Connect your body to the earth.
Some people like to use tree roots as a visualization or I like to imagine a waterfall coming off of my sitz bones and flowing into the earth.
Maybe it's just a cord or a climbing rope or something.
And as you start to imagine that connection,
Just see yourself as being completely tethered to the earth.
You're not going anywhere.
There's nothing you can do,
No misstep you can make that would ever disconnect you from Mother Earth.
And now as you breathe out,
Just allow any body pain,
Tension,
Unhelpful thoughts,
Just allow all those parts of your energetic body to move down through your body and out through the grounding cord.
And so as you breathe out,
You're just releasing anything that's not in your highest good to hold on to.
Just letting the cares and the tension in your body dissolve.
The earth is so much larger and bigger and vaster than anything that we can release into it.
So just allow Mother Earth to accept what you have.
And she can recycle it or perhaps it melts in the center of the earth.
Now in your mind's eye,
I'd like you to go to one of your favorite places in nature.
Just find yourself there.
It may be a place you visit a million times or just some place you've always dreamed about.
Just find yourself in this place and just begin to relax there.
So imagine what it looks like,
What it feels like.
Maybe the air is warm on your skin.
Maybe there's a certain smell to this place that makes you feel nourished and relaxed.
Maybe there's certain colors.
Just notice if you're lying down there or sitting or dipping your feet in the water.
Just really be in that nature scene.
Now as you breathe in,
Just really imagine that earth energy,
That beautiful place in nature coming into your body,
Into every pore,
Into the interstitial spaces.
Maybe it even covers you like a blanket.
Perhaps you can even pour the earth energy over your head and down your body.
But just know that this earth energy is completely nourishing.
It's like nature's perfect green smoothie for you today.
She's bathing you in her groundedness,
Her solidity.
And so if you want,
You can imagine as you breathe in,
You're bringing in that elixir of earth energy.
And as you're breathing out,
You're releasing down and grounding off anything that's not in your highest good to hold on to.
And right now there's nothing you need to hold on to.
You don't need to hold on to concerns or worries.
Just let them go for now.
And just allow Mother Earth to hold you.
Just take a moment also to feel this kind of slow,
Deep earth energy that's really solid and steady.
And it's there for us anytime we choose to connect to it.
We're going to do a practice called running our energy.
We're going to maintain that earth energy.
But we're also going to bring in some sky energy,
Some of the get up and go,
The cosmic chi,
The energy from the cosmos.
So staying grounded and staying rooted just in your mind's eye.
Bring your awareness to a point above your head.
Just slowly move that point of awareness from above your head to above your apartment or your house,
To above your town or your city,
To above the earth.
And so your point of awareness is way out in the vast cosmos.
Just allow your awareness to rest here for a moment.
Look around.
Perhaps you see some stars,
See planet Earth below you.
And from this vantage point,
Just connect into your sense of possibility and expansion.
And see if there's a star or a planet or some kind of celestial being that wants to connect with you.
Maybe it's just a star that's shining a little brighter.
And just allow that star or that planet to come close to you and close to that point of awareness.
And allow whatever color or energy that it's presenting,
Allow that to come into your point of awareness and allow it to flow down into the center of your head.
And this is your life force energy,
Your get up and go.
This starlight is giving you ultimate permission to be yourself in the world.
And just allow that energy to come in through the crown of your head.
And it just pours over you,
Down your shoulders,
Into your torso and your belly,
Down into your pelvis and your legs,
And out your feet.
So if you can,
Continue to bring up the earth energy,
The grounded,
Heavy,
Solid energy.
And then also allow this starlight energy to come in through your crown.
And it just excites you.
This is like what makes you you.
This is like the special sauce that makes you your unique personality that gives you all your gifts and abilities.
This is the permission to be yourself.
And just let that come in through your crown chakra,
Just at the top of your head,
And flow all the way down to your feet.
It's kind of like a cosmic shower.
So running our energy is just this constant dance of bringing in the sparkly,
Excited energy and bringing up the grounded,
Rooted energy.
Countless traditions have talked about heaven and earth energy being mixed and blended into the human body.
And that's exactly what we're doing today.
So hopefully you're getting the sensation of like tingly and excitement,
But also really relaxed and grounded.
So I'd like you to just stay now together in silent meditation for about 10 more minutes,
And you can continue to run your energy consciously if you'd like to keep playing with that.
Or you can go into a more traditional silent meditation where you have maybe your breath as your focus.
Whatever feels best to you.
