Welcome.
Namaskaram.
Thank you for sharing this space with me,
This space of presence and possibility.
My name is Elliot.
I will be your guide for this meditation.
I am honored to be here with you today as part of your inner journey.
I celebrate each and every one of you for choosing to show up for yourself,
For your growth,
And for your inner well-being.
In this session,
I will guide you through a simple yet powerful breathing practice designed to progressively calm the mind and regulate the nervous system.
From there,
We will move into a gentle awareness meditation to reconnect you with clarity and steadiness within.
This recording is part of the Foundations of Presence series.
It is a privilege to be here with you now.
You are probably here listening because at some level,
You are ready to slow down.
You are ready to return to yourself.
Perhaps life has felt busy.
Perhaps your thoughts have felt loud.
Perhaps you simply sense that there is more peace available to you than you are currently experiencing.
And you would be right.
In this meditation,
I will guide you into a stillness that is already within you.
Not something you must create.
Not something you must earn.
But something you can access through awareness.
We are not here to force silence.
We are not here to stop thinking.
We are here to gently shift from doing into being.
Through breath and simple presence,
You may begin to feel space.
Space between thoughts.
Space within the body.
Space in the heart.
And in that space,
Clarity naturally arises.
That is what I offer you now.
A moment to reset,
To reconnect,
And to remember that peace is closer than you think.
If you are ready,
Let us begin.
Wherever you are in the world right now,
Take a moment to arrive.
You have chosen to pause.
You have chosen to turn inward.
That choice alone is powerful.
This meditation is simple.
It is gentle.
It is for everyone,
Whether this is your first time sitting or your thousandth.
Find a comfortable seated position.
You may sit on a chair with both feet on the floor or cross-legged on the ground.
Keep your spine tall but not rigid.
Let your hands rest comfortably.
If it feels safe to do so,
Gently close your eyes.
Let us start by gently tuning into the breath.
Become aware of your breathing and allow it to deepen slightly.
Breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.
Breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.
Observe your lower abdomen expanding first,
Then your ribcage.
You are breathing consciously now and you are the breath.
Filling up with fresh prana,
Relinquishing negative energy.
Feel this transaction taking place.
Inhale fresh prana.
Exhale,
Relinquish negative energy.
Allow the outside world to fade slightly into the background.
There is nowhere to go.
Nothing to fix.
Nothing to achieve.
For the next few moments,
Your only role is to be here.
There is nowhere to go.
Nothing to fix.
Nothing to achieve.
For the next few moments,
Your only role is to be here.
There is nowhere to go.
Nothing to fix.
Before we continue,
I would like to share a quote.
The quieter you become,
The more.
.
.
This quote reminds me that presence is not about withdrawing from life.
It is about becoming available to it.
When we are constantly moving,
Reacting,
And thinking,
We miss the subtle intelligence within us.
But when we soften,
When we slow down,
When we allow even a few moments of inner quiet,
Something begins to reorganize.
We hear our intuition more clearly.
We feel our body more honestly.
We respond rather than react.
Presence becomes the foundation from which clarity,
Healing,
And wise action naturally arise.
Let us begin building that foundation now.
We will begin with a very simple breathing rhythm to calm the nervous system.
Inhale through the nose for a count of four.
Pause gently for two.
Exhale slowly through your nose for six.
Let us begin.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Again,
Inhale.
Continue at your own pace.
Longer exhale.
Soft inhale.
As the exhale becomes slightly longer than the inhale,
Your body begins to receive a message.
It is safe to relax.
If your mind wanders,
And it will,
Gently bring it back to calm.
Your breath is always present.
Your breath is an expression of your aliveness.
Stay here for several rounds.
Now release the counting.
Let the breath return to its natural rhythm.
Simply notice it.
The coolness of the inhale.
The warmth of the exhale.
You are observing it,
Resting in your alertness.
This is meditation.
There is no need to stop thoughts or force silence.
Just aim to stay connected to your awareness.
If thoughts arise,
Notice them like fallen leaves floating down a stream.
You do not need to chase them.
You do not need to push them away.
Simply watch them drift by.
Let them pass.
Let them naturally lose their attraction.
From time to time,
This gentle sound will be played.
Allow it to support your practice,
A reminder to remain in the space of non-reactive observation.
And whenever you notice that you have been carried away by a thought,
Gently return your awareness to a natural,
Full breath.
No judgment.
No effort.
Just returning.
Bring your attention to the space just behind the forehead,
The center of perception.
Softly rest your awareness there and breathe.
Bring your attention to the space just behind the forehead,
The center of perception.
Softly rest your awareness there and breathe.
Now gently bring awareness to the anahata,
The heart space,
The center of the chest.
With each inhale,
Imagine space expanding.
With each exhale,
Imagine tension dissolving.
With each inhale,
Imagine space expanding.
With each exhale,
Imagine tension dissolving.
I would like to share a foundational teaching from the Yoga Sutras.
Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind.
Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind.
This quote reminds me that meditation is not about becoming someone new.
It is about clearing the surface so that what is already steady within us can be felt.
When the fluctuations settle,
Even slightly,
We experience a quiet stability beneath them.
Integration means recognizing that this steadiness does not disappear when we open our eyes.
It remains available in movement,
In conversation,
In work,
In a relationship.
The stillness is not fragile.
It is foundational.
Now gently begin to deepen your breath.
Notice that you are supported by the ground beneath you.
Notice that you are breathing without effort.
Begin to gently wiggle your fingers.
If your eyes are closed,
Slowly open them when you are ready,
But do not rush away.
Take one more conscious breath in.
Meditation is not about escaping life.
It is about meeting it with clarity.
Even five minutes of presence can shift your entire day.
Imagine what a consistent daily practice can do.
Thank yourself for showing up.
Carry this steadiness with you.
And remember,
You can return to your breath and this meditation at any moment.
