Welcome to today's meditation.
Finding courage.
Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Seated or laying down and working with whatever support you need to optimise your comfort.
Remembering that comfort is king.
And as you close your eyes,
Tune into the rhythm of your natural breath as you find it.
Just feeling the body rise and fall,
Softly,
Gently.
And as we begin we might just visualise ourselves wrapping our arms around our own body and feel free to do this.
Giving ourselves thanks for carving out the time and space in which to meditate,
To strengthen your resolve and your courage for whatever it is that you face.
If you're feeling alone or afraid,
Know that there is a whole community of meditators,
Support globally,
Also walking this journey.
And that whatever you feel in this moment is both temporary and universal.
You are not alone in how you feel.
You are supported.
As we walk through this lifetime,
We will encounter many,
If not several,
Challenges,
Crises and dilemmas.
And my assumption is that if you're listening to this meditation,
You find yourself in one of those places.
So let's plug in deeper.
Let's route down through the base of the body and feel ourselves deeply connected to the earth beneath us.
Softening and relaxing the body so that we're not yearning towards some other place,
Rather we are meeting ourselves exactly where we are.
And settling in,
Making home.
Let's take a breath in together.
Hold for a moment at the top and then breathing out,
Breathe that breath all the way back down through this connecting point at the base of the body,
Send that breath down into the earth.
As you breathe in again,
Feel yourself becoming lighter,
Taller,
More expansive.
Hold at the top and exhale that breath back down through the base of the body and into the earth.
Final breath in in the same way,
Drawing energy in from the earth.
Holding at the top and then long,
Slow exhale out,
Sending away any tension,
Any fear and any doubt.
Now just letting the breath return to normal and noticing how you feel.
If there is sadness or worry,
Give yourself that embrace once again and draw yourself closer,
As if you were drawing in a dear one,
A child,
Somebody that you love.
Long breath out,
Exhaling back into the earth.
Let's step forward now together and I want you to visualise yourself standing at a crossroads.
It may be that you do find yourself at a crossroad in your life and unsure which way to turn,
You're paralysed,
Stuck.
I want you now to stand at this crossroad,
To see the many paths ahead,
All of which present a totally viable option to you.
Knowing also that if there really are no paths,
One will appear,
One will appear.
Maybe you bring your hand to your heart at this stage and feel into the warmth of your hand on your body and the rise of your heart as you breathe in and the softening as you breathe out.
On the other side of whatever fear or doubt is arising in you is your courage.
In fact,
The fear and the doubt are calling on your courage,
Running literally from the heart to expand,
To shine forward.
So as you face these pathways and this crossroad,
Tune into your heart's desires,
Just dropping awareness into this intuitive centre,
Full of life and full of wisdom.
And as you breathe into the heart's space,
Let that life and that wisdom generate warmth and an opening and unfolding.
Feel your body become mighty,
Strong and capable with every breath in.
Feel yourself rising up to meet this challenge,
This crisis,
This crossroad.
Every breath in an expansion of the heart and the chest,
The heart just lifting up to be touched by the universe.
Every breath out,
A release of the fear and the doubt.
You might bring to mind the words and affirmation that supports this nurturing breath.
Repeating to yourself,
Breathing in I breathe in courage.
Breathing out I release all fear and doubt.
Breathing in I breathe in my natural strength and capability.
Breathing out I breathe out all worry.
Breathing in I know that I am supported.
Breathing out I surrender.
Breathing in I trust.
Breathing out I know the path ahead.
Stay there with the hand on the heart.
Feel yourself continuing to root down through your feet,
Lifting all the way through the length of the spine to the crown of the head.
Feeling the heart lifting and opening to receive this internal strength and this support from the world around you.
Feel yourself growing taller,
More open,
Stronger.
Feel yourself drawing in the energy that is needed in order to help you on your way.
Knowing that the body and the spirit know just what to do and that this isn't a matter for the mind to analyse and think about.
Trust in yourself that you have the courage to continue and that the unknown is rich and ripe with reward.
To stand up to the truth of your own heart takes courage and inner strength and your reserves of this strength are infinite.
Use this heart power whenever you need it,
Whenever you face adversity,
Fear or challenge.
Knowing that the heart doesn't lie,
Its only language is truth.
And that the most courageous act in life is to live in accordance with your own values,
To live in alignment with yourself,
To be inspired and moved by the very life essence that is at the heart of you in this intuitive centre.
As William Faulkner said,
You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.
So step forward onto whichever path and trust that you are supported no matter which decision you take,
That there is no right or singular route onward,
But perhaps just a decision in and of itself.
Have courage dear heart,
Have courage.
Let's bring our hands together in prayer position at the heart centre and taking one final full breath into the heart,
Breathing out to bow the head towards the heart and the hands.
Namaste.

I am grateful to you for this tender, though firm, guidance to face solidly the fear I harbor of speaking before a a group and standing firm in my own skin, though it differ from some. It is a longstanding fear and I may not yet have the courage to step beyond my fear yet, but am certainly willing to move through it to the other side with the courage to transmute this fear to Love β€οΈ. Blessings π
