There are just different ways,

Different methods.

Advaita says there is no need to close your eyes and meditate.

Advaita is the direct path.

I'll explain what is the meaning of a direct path and indirect path.

The direct path says you get enlightened directly first.

You see the knower,

You see the knowingness.

And then you start working on the post enlightenment sadhana where you are actually making an effort to wipe away all the negativity that is coming up in you and becoming a problem on your path and not letting you be in the knower.

The other path,

Yogic path or buddha's path,

All the paths that have sadhana.

All these paths say that first you purify yourself,

Remove all the clouds and then you know the knower.

That is the meaning of direct path versus indirect path.

So Advaita and Ramana Maharshi's path is the direct path.

Buddha's path and all the other paths are a little indirect path.

Indirect means first you work,

Work,

Work,

Work,

Work on yourself for a long time,

Remove the negativity and then you know the knower in its pureness and then you can maintain it longer.

You are there completely.
