In this talk, Ektaji teaches us how we have given the reins of our lives to our minds a long time ago and we have become the slaves to the 'Master' mind. This results in us pointlessly and aimlessly running. In this parable, she tells us to stop running and become the Master of our lives. The parable might evoke some thoughts, emotions. Know that these are just thoughts not "your" thoughts. Know that these are just emotions not "your" emotions. Visit her website for more information.

Welcome to Zen parables with Ekta.

Our mind rules us.

Long long ago we gave the reins of our life into the hands of this mind.

And this mind has become the master and we have become the slaves.

We keep running in circles not knowing what we are doing,

Where we are going.

We just keep running.

The essence of Zen is to help you recognize the pointless running.

To take a moment and stop.

And recognize that you are the master not the slave.

Today's parable will evoke thoughts in you.

Remember they are not my thoughts.

They are just thoughts.

When thoughts arise,

Just take a step back.

Watch them like strangers passing on the street.

Be a witness and you will find yourself in that awareness that lies behind the thought.

Today's parable is called Be the Boss.

Or we can also call it Be the Master.

A horse was galloping galloping galloping quickly down the road.

It was going somewhere very important.

It was in a very high speed.

There was a man sitting on this galloping horse.

He came to a crossroad and stopped.

Another man who was standing alongside the road asked him,

Where are you going in such a hurry?

And the man on the horse replied,

I don't know.

Ask the horse.

I don't know.

Ask the horse.

Do you know where you are going and why?

Viewing thoughts as strangers on a busy street- is more helpful to me than my original- viewing thoughts as leaves in a stream. I was still overly interested in the leaves. People watching doesn’t create attachment. In gratitude πŸ™πŸ»

Thoughtful. Where are you going? Simple question which can be hard to answer. Need to think about where am I going. Thoughtful.
