Welcome!
My name is Eden Harmy.
I'm here to guide you through a goal setting meditation.
So the purpose of this 15 minute meditation and journaling exercise is to help you get clear on your goals,
Big or small,
And help you go after them with ease and joy.
In other words you'll get crystal clear focus and untap a bunch of new energy to do your work.
So the first thing I want us to do is I want you to stand up and do some stretches,
Shake it out,
Do some neck circles,
Do some hip circles,
Touch your toes,
Just shake it out even.
I want you to get comfortable in your body.
There might have been a lot of stagnant energy from you sitting down for a long period of time so let's just start to get that moving,
Air on the ground,
Whatever feels good for you.
Just make sure your back is straight so that our breath can travel easily.
And we're just going to get started by taking three cleansing breaths.
So in through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Good,
One more in and out.
Very good.
Last one in and out.
Good.
Now I want you to continue breathing on your own like so,
Slower,
Deeper,
And you can do in through the nose,
Out through the nose,
In through the mouth,
Out through the mouth,
Or a combination of both,
Whatever feels right for you as long as the breath is slower and you're feeling a little calmer each time.
And as you're breathing I'm just going to share a little bit about why we're breathing this way.
Now when you think of your goals or your work,
Creation is ultimately what you're doing.
You're creating new ideas,
Pieces of work,
Out of your goals,
Dreams,
And everything you've learned up until this point.
So we want to help your process of creation by helping you calm down,
Relax,
And then do certain things so that your ideas and your excitement can come through.
So let's breathe in together.
We'll breathe out.
One more.
And out.
One more deep breath.
And breathe out.
Good.
And I want you to continue breathing like this on your own.
And you'll notice with every breath you're getting more relaxed,
Perhaps your mind is getting a little sharper.
Good.
And now what I want you to do is I want you to go ahead and put your hands,
Palms facing up on your lap.
And take a couple deep breaths in this position.
And having our palms facing upwards is our way of positioning our body to let our environment know that we are open to new ideas,
To good vibes basically.
Let's breathe in.
And we'll breathe out.
Getting comfortable in this state of openness.
Clear-headedness.
And relaxation.
Good.
Now continue breathing on your own.
And just adding a little more.
You know,
Creation needs a clear channel for its energy to flow.
So everything that we've done up until this point is helping clear any energy that is foggy,
Heavy.
And we're left with this new fresh,
Clear path.
And from now we can start directing the energy toward our goals in the right way.
So let's breathe in together.
We'll breathe out.
Good.
Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
Very good.
On the next breath,
I want you to start thinking of your goals now.
They could be goals for today,
For this week,
For this month,
For your life,
Whatever it may be.
Just start thinking of them.
Maybe you start seeing them in your mind's eye.
I want you to breathe into this.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Good.
Continuing to think about your goals.
Now I want you to go ahead and just choose one.
Really the first one that you think of or the first few ones is best for this exercise.
And I want you to focus on only that goal.
And I want you to breathe into this goal nice and slowly,
Deeply.
And as you're breathing and holding this goal in your mind's eye,
Pay attention to how this makes you feel.
You might notice that you feel excited or you may feel neutral or you might feel a little bit anxious.
Any one of these feelings is fine.
Totally normal when we're thinking about our dreams and our goals.
And all I want you to do right now is to just observe what feeling comes up and continue to breathe through it.
So let's breathe in.
And breathe out.
Very good.
One more.
And out.
Good.
Now I want you to start to imagine that you've already accomplished this goal.
Maybe you can see it happening.
Maybe you can feel it happening.
But I just want you to allow yourself to step into this space of I've already accomplished it.
Whatever goal I have,
It's done.
And notice how this feels.
Maybe you feel content.
Maybe you feel happy.
Maybe you feel uplifted.
I want you to breathe into this space,
Enjoying these feelings.
Continuing to breathe and imagine that you've accomplished your goal already.
Really enjoying the pleasure that you get out of imagining that you've accomplished it.
Maybe you feel more open.
Maybe you feel the urge to smile.
If you do,
That's amazing.
Continue smiling.
And now holding this feeling,
Keeping your smile,
I want you to open your eyes now and look at your piece of paper and pen.
And for the next three minutes,
We're going to have a stream of consciousness journaling exercise.
So go ahead,
Pick up your pen and just start writing anything that comes to mind as you're in this space.
Don't look back at what you've wrote.
Don't worry about your grammar,
Your handwriting.
We are going to just let the writing start.
Through writing,
We're allowing the creation side of our brain to wake up.
So go ahead and start writing now.
And in about three minutes,
I'll come back to you.
Okay.
So whatever sentence you're on,
Go ahead and complete that sentence.
Put your pen down.
And I want you to close your eyes again.
And I want you to breathe into what came up during our writing session.
So let's breathe in together to get started.
We'll breathe out together.
Very good.
Continue breathing like this on your own and reflect on what came up.
Maybe you have a new ideas.
Maybe you're even more excited now,
Now that you've allowed yourself to step into this space of joyful,
Mindful goal setting.
And with this new found clear focus,
New energy,
I wish you the very best on your work,
On your goals.
