Start by settling comfortably,

Easing in,

Slowing down,

Relaxing and loosening tight muscles,

Stiff joints.

Breathing into cramped spaces in your body.

Today we're going to follow our pulse as it brings radiance and warmth to our body.

Slowing down and getting quiet until you can faintly perceive your heart.

Try to notice the rush and thrum of blood from your heart to your head in that space of your upper chest.

See if you can't take note of your pulse.

With your attention alone,

Locate your pulse.

Notice its rhythm.

And then see if you might slow it down five or even ten percent,

Just a little.

When it's oxygenated,

Blood is red.

When it is not oxygenated,

It's more of a straw color.

Today we're going to picture our circulation as a kind of light,

A luminous radiance.

Start from the place in your upper chest where you can identify your pulse just by attention.

Notice it.

Imagine that it is light,

Holy effervescence shimmering in your body,

Any color of light you like.

Feel the pulsing of blood and life and light from your heart upwards to your head,

Neck,

Face,

And brain,

Light illuminating in a sacred and gentle pulse.

Light like blood filling and nourishing your bones,

Tissue,

And organs,

Like your skin and eyes shining out.

Return to the steady beat of your heart.

Notice it without touching it physically.

Can you feel your pulse?

And when you do,

Slow it down.

Maybe you can find the beat in your belly,

Waist,

And hips.

See if you can't locate your pulse there.

And along with the blood,

Picture light of any color just illuminating your waist and hips,

Backside.

Another place to discover your pulse is in your hands and fingertips.

Notice the heat and the blood and the light illuminating your hands,

Flowing into and through it,

Blazing out with your pulse.

Returning for a moment to your heart,

The center and focus of your radiance,

Just notice your pulse there beating,

Beating,

Beating.

Finally,

See if you can sense your pulse in your knees,

Ankles,

To feet and toenails,

Pulsating with blood and oxygen.

Life and light.

Feel that radiance extending,

Extending,

Extending.

Feel it at the bottom of your feet,

Pulsing with light.

We'll close at the heart,

Again,

The seat of all this radiance.

Feel it pulsing,

Its glow out.

Notice the rhythm.

And one last time,

See if you can slow the rhythm down.

Slowing down.
