This meditation is from Alon Ferenci and it's based in Hebrew Bible Genesis chapter 12.
Begin by sitting comfortably,
Your feet on the floor,
Your arms at ease at your sides,
Legs and arms,
Hands and feet uncrossed.
Breathing deeply all the way into the pit of your stomach.
Begin by taking several deep breaths with at least a four count in and a four count out.
Everyone at many times in their lives gets stuck.
This meditation is about getting unstuck.
This meditation is for each of you who find yourself unable to move on from something.
So as you take deep breaths,
Either seated or even lying down,
Preferably with your eyes closed,
Imagine you're somewhere sticky.
Could be a marsh.
Could be wet sand.
Could be a forest floor.
The kind of surface that if you're not careful,
Can suck your shoes right off.
Go into that distress without distressing yourself exactly.
Allow yourself to feel physically the stuckness you might feel emotionally,
Psychically or spiritually in your day to day life.
Breathing in and out without tensing your shoulders or your stomach or your legs.
Just recognize that experience of being stuck,
Of being held in place contrary to your desire.
Feel yourself unmoving,
Resistant to progress or change.
Breathing deeply so as not to create tension in your back or your jaw.
Stay relaxed but aware physically of the mental spaces and places in your life where you feel stoppered.
Now listen closely.
Breathing deeply and using your ears and your senses.
Imagine a distant and gentle voice luring you forward out of the place of resistance.
Can you hear it?
Like a bird song or a whisper or the sound of a breeze.
Something is calling you out of the stickiness.
You want to move on.
Feel a gentle pressure on your shoulder blades and an easy attraction in your heart and chest pulling you forward.
Imagine your sternum and your heart like a magnet drawing you on to the next place you ought to go.
Breathe in through that elastic and magnetic and warmly lit space in your chest.
Breathe out with your ears towards that gentle and distant sound drawing you.
Feel a lightness in your feet and in your knees and your thighs and calves,
An eagerness to move,
To dance and sing,
To stride forward.
Breathe all the way down into your joints.
Feel your body become light and energetic.
And as you breathe with your ears awake to a sound that calls you on,
An owl's hoot,
The whisper of wind,
The glow of the sun.
Feel the lightness and the attraction in your chest.
Breathe all the way into it.
Feel the softness in your hips and knees and ankles,
Feet urging you onward.
And know that just as your body is free to move,
So too your spirit and your will can move on.
You are not stuck.
You can be lured forward by a small still voice calling you.
Continue breathing with lightness and joy and momentum.
Become expansive.
Blessings.
