Welcome to finding your peace and cozy Take a moment to find a comfortable seat or rest position Settle in Let your eyes softly close if that feels alright Breathe This time is just for you Take a moment to tune in to the sounds around you What do you hear?
When you are ready,
Gently guide your attention to the touch of your legs,
Back or perhaps your arms against the fabric of your chair,
The floor or wherever you are resting Perhaps you can sense the brush of the air upon you as you settle within Breathe Begin to tune inward so that you can find the voice of your body,
Your breath Feel for the flow of air in your body and see if you can find your breath If you cannot find it right now,
It's okay Just continue to listen and notice See if you can notice and observe the cool sensation of the air in your nose or mouth as you breathe in and the warmth in your nose or mouth as you breathe out Feel the rise and fall of your stomach as the air ebbs and flows within Let's take two deep breaths together Deep inhale Long exhale Now see if you can follow your breath with interest and curiosity Just as you might follow along the winding path of a river that flows through a forest Notice any thoughts or feelings that might emerge into your awareness You might greet these thoughts or feelings as you might greet a tiny animal from the forest that you meet as you walk along the river Then gently guide your attention back to your river Continuing to walk along it with a sense of curiosity and wonder Now in your mind's eye you might envision this river even more clearly Notice the colors that you see The sounds that you hear Perhaps you notice the babbling and rippling of the flowing water The songs and warbles of the birds above you If you listen closely maybe you can hear the quiet crackling of the leaves beneath your feet or the whistling of the wind As you take a deep breath in perhaps you notice the cool scent of the fresh and crisp air And now a deep breath out What other scents do you notice?
You might tune in to the temperature of the wind against your skin What does it feel like as you tune in?
As you walk along you come across a special and familiar place Nestled within the forest clearing A sense of peace begins to rise and flow within you Ah,
You have reached your very own cozy cabin It is safe,
Quiet and comforting It is all yours A place of solace and restoration just for you See if you can envision your very own cabin What does it look like on the outside?
What do you notice?
As you open the door and peek inside you see that your cabin is just as you left it As you close the door behind you you remember that when you close your door no one can come inside unless they are welcome You can always choose to reach out to anyone outside of your cabin if you would like And you can let anyone in that you choose It is always up to you In this cabin you are always safe You are always protected in your own cozy space Breathe Perhaps you begin to explore your cabin What do you see inside?
Notice the colours,
The shapes,
The objects that greet your senses What sounds do you hear?
As you take a deep breath in and out what sense do you notice?
Maybe you reach out a bit with the curious tips of your fingers What can you touch?
What does it feel like on the tips of your fingers?
Just notice And now you may choose to gently shift your attention deeper within Finding your flow of breath as your anchor You can return to this anchor anytime,
Anywhere In your mind's eye you might close your eyes and take a deep inhale and a long exhale See if you can notice how you feel inside as you explore your very own special space This space that is just for you If you notice thoughts of other things or other times emerge into your awareness that is completely natural and okay You can choose to stay with these thoughts or you can choose to gently guide your attention back to your senses and what you are noticing in your cabin You can always find your breath as your anchor if it feels alright See if there is anything that would help you feel even more safe and cozy inside your cabin Perhaps you choose to kindle a fire in the fireplace for some extra warmth or so that you can enjoy the gentle crackling of the fire Maybe you would like to warm some hot cocoa on the stove to sip as you snuggle Maybe you would just like to be with everything just as it is Breathe Now perhaps you find a cozy and cuddly spot to rest inside your cabin Take a moment to settle in Ahhhh Maybe you can hear the soft pitter patter of the rain against the windowpanes Perhaps you find your favourite snugly,
Warm,
Quiet spot in your cabin What does your favourite snugly and quiet spot look like?
What's in it?
Take a moment to settle in Immersing yourself in the peace that you find there Perhaps in your cozy spot you find your favourite soft,
Warm blanket Just waiting for you And you wrap it all around you Just snuggling it in Notice how soft the blanket feels against your skin What a beautiful feeling See if you can just breathe with this feeling for a moment You can always return to this feeling whenever you want As you glance through the windows you may notice that it has begun to snow You watch the tiny flakes and puffs of snow begin to float from the sky past your window It is so cold outside and you are so safe,
Warm and cuddly inside your cabin You may choose to stay just as you are Or perhaps you notice your hammock off in the corner of your cabin It looks so comforting and soothing You may choose to make your way over to your hammock and climb inside You know this feeling Take a moment to pause Notice and breathe With a deep inhale and a long exhale You might begin to snuggle into all the fluffy pillows and soft blankets that you find inside your hammock Maybe you have a book to read in your hammock What else is in there just for you?
Maybe you begin to nestle in even more deeply Just melting into your hammock Inside your hammock the world outside just seems to fade away You gently rock back and forth Back and forth Back and forth as you breathe in and out In and out See if you can feel the soft blankets and pillows against your hands and cheeks As you rest,
Perhaps your eyes gently close Take note of how cold it might be outside your cabin and how warm you are on the inside It feels calm and safe You gently rock and rest Rock and rest Feeling every inch of your body Every muscle Every muscle begin to release,
Relax and soften All of the tension seems to melt away Perhaps you have a sense that you can navigate anything Anything at all When you are ready,
Perhaps you decide that it is time to climb out of your hammock Feeling rested,
Peaceful and rejuvenated You might say goodbye to your cabin for now Knowing that you can come back and return to these feelings,
To this place anytime you wish It is always there for you For a long retreat or just a brief visit You feel ready to head back out into the forest,
Feeling calm,
Centered and present When you are ready,
Take a few moments to climb out of your mind's eye And gently guide your attention back to the feel of your body in this resting position Notice the sounds in the room around you The touch of the fabric,
The ground or the air against your body Take a deep breath in and out When you feel ready,
You can open your eyes and notice the colors,
Objects,
Shapes in the room around you As you transition from your practice today Thank you for sharing this time and place with me I am honored to have helped guide you through this practice today And I send you all my best wishes for a peaceful and cozy rest of your day or evening Thank you for watching!
