Embody the naturally creative and healing energy of an authentic smile. From whatever state you may be in we can use a deep remembering of the inborn sense of contentment and peace to create that in our lives right now. Grow and nurture that sense in every cell, tissue and organ of the body. Take it with you into your day to help you summit the situations and circumstances before you.

Welcome,

And settling in to this smile meditation.

This meditation tells us that if we hold a physiology for about 20 to 30 seconds,

We start to root it or groove it into our physiology.

And over time creating permanent changes in our brain which help us see the world differently,

Act kinder to ourselves and others,

And feel a greater sense of calm and peace.

In this meditation,

We're going to take the smile,

No matter how you're feeling right now,

And allow that energy to become embodied,

To move it through you,

To help you become it.

All you have to do is settle in anywhere.

Get as comfortable as possible.

You can be seated,

Feet flat on the floor,

Upright,

Aware posture,

Supported by the back of the chair,

Or lying down,

Comfortable,

Cozy,

Head supported,

Arms resting.

Bringing yourself into this room,

Into the space you're in right now,

Just simply noticing the sounds,

The sights,

Smells,

The touch,

The surface coming up to support you from below,

Your clothing,

A breeze across your skin.

Noticing any rattle or hum of emotion buzzing around in the body that you bring to this meditation,

Or any thoughts in the mind,

Welcoming them,

Noticing them,

Witnessing them from a distance,

And simply allowing them to be.

And then when you're ready,

Simply letting that go,

Floating off like a cloud.

Bring your attention further still into the body,

And noticing the breath,

That process that brings oxygen into the body,

Gives life automatically,

Without you even noticing sometimes.

Bringing your attention into that process,

Not changing it any,

Not naming it or judging it,

Just noticing it as it is.

Breathing in together,

Breathing out together,

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

And now to whatever degree you can,

I welcome you to just allow a gentle smile to come across your face.

Maybe you move your whole mouth and lips,

Maybe your eyes get involved,

Squinting a little,

Corners curling up of your lips.

Maybe it's just the energy of a smile that you can feel in your cheeks raising and your brow lightening.

Simply allow a smile to come across your face.

If it doesn't feel possible right now,

That's okay,

Simply allowing that feeling to be as well,

Witnessing it,

Allowing it,

Accepting it for just this moment,

And then coming back into the process with us.

Feel that smile,

Feel the lightness that comes with it and recognize that as the body talks,

So goes the thoughts and the emotions and the physiology.

Your internal environment will reflect this as we practice.

Practicing this for two months,

Eight weeks will help this become more permanent,

Help you see the world a little differently,

Witness it with greater peace and calm,

Allow greater kindness to yourself and others,

Increased focus.

Now feeling that sense that the smile brings to you on the inside and now just simply allowing it to travel down,

Bring that lightness,

That sense of contentment,

Fulfillment,

Maybe a touch of joy and allow it to drift down into the neck.

Feel it in your chest,

Feel it across your shoulders,

Let that sense expand into you,

Let it expand into your belly,

The softness of your belly right now as you relax into this process even further.

Feeling that sense of tickle or smile or lightness into the hips,

Pelvis,

Thighs,

Filling you up,

Coming with relaxation,

Calm,

Contentment,

Joy and a little spark.

Finishing and bringing it down to the lower legs and the feet all the way into the toes,

Into the arms,

The forearms and the fingers and allowing that smile to fill you up,

To expand within you and to allow you to expand until your margins glow and connect with the environment around you.

Taking a moment to just say hello,

I love you,

I hear you,

Thank you to each of your body parts as we come back in to your fingers,

Hello,

I love you,

Your toes,

Your calves,

Your lower leg,

Your knees and your thighs,

Hello and thank you,

Sending a smile of joy and spark of life to them.

Into your hips,

Into your thighs,

Pelvis,

Abdomen,

Coming back up into your chest and feeling that smile in your whole head and neck and letting it reside in your chest for one more moment and letting it materialize and grow until you feel it so deeply in your chest as contentment,

Love and that spark of you at your best,

That you that will show to the universe that we won't hide or dim anymore,

That we're allowed to perpetuate into every cell,

Tissue and organ in your body until you can share it with everyone.

And slowly coming back in and just echoing this affirmation together,

I am love,

I am fulfillment,

I am joy.

I am love,

I am fulfillment,

I am joy.

I am love,

I am fulfillment,

I am joy.

Taking a big breath in and letting it out together.

Another breath in and letting it go and with every breath pumping that sensation through your whole body and one more breath in and letting it go.

Wiggling your toes and your fingers and coming back into this world slowly as you open your eyes ready to go on with your day,

Bringing a little bit more contentment,

Joy and spark with you and remembering you can practice this whenever you want and reinstill this fulfillment,

This spark into your whole body with just a simple smile.

Thank you for practicing this meditation with me.

Very helpful. I have been so shut down that the feeling of smiling is almost uncomfortable but I think regular practice will make changes in my body, mind and heart.
