Welcome to the fourth of a new series of meditations called Music as Medicine. The song for this practice is titled Master, meaning one who has mastered the self. This could represent any master with which you resonate or simply just your Higher Self. Reconnect with that source of strength and wisdom and remember you are loved in every moment. After the meditation with the song, there is a silent period to integrate, followed by an ending bell. When you're feeling unsure, fearful, alone, on the wrong track, or just out of alignment, give this one a try!

Hi,

This is Beth.

Welcome to another Music as Medicine practice.

If you enjoy this practice,

Please consider leaving your review and follow me here on Insight Timer.

This time featuring the song,

Master.

It's a medicine song to remind us that we're never truly alone,

Even in the hardest times,

That courage and love flow in abundance,

And that we can allow our spirits to soar.

Let's define Master.

For our purposes,

A Master isn't someone who has power over others.

Rather,

It is someone who has power over themselves.

It is someone who has mastered life and risen above the forces of ego that drive the spirit down.

This could easily be misconstrued to be a specific Master,

Excluding others.

But really,

It's about whichever Master you resonate with.

Be that Christ,

Yogananda,

Buddha,

Allah,

Or simply your higher self.

Whichever is meaningful for you.

Today's practice has three movements.

The first is Prayer Pose,

With the hands pressed together at the heart.

Prayer Pose is held throughout the verses.

The second is Victory Pose,

With the arms outstretched upward,

In the shape of a V.

Hold Victory Pose throughout the choruses.

The third is a wing-like flying movement in the arms.

This is done in the instrumental,

But you can also spread your wings and fly at any time.

Though each movement is related to a section of the music,

There's no hard and fast rules here.

Follow your bliss.

And don't forget to breathe.

As you get to know the lyrics and movement,

It will be easier to anticipate what comes next,

Or sing along.

Oh,

And don't be afraid to really get into it.

Let go.

You'll know practice is over by the sound of a bell.

But feel free to stay in meditation as long as you wish.

Are you ready?

Love,

Fill me up with just the courage I need.

Love,

Give me wing weak.

There's a courage I gather when things look bleak.

There's a source that won't fail me when I'm ready to break.

There's a love that surrounds me as I live for love's sake.

Fill me up with just the courage I need.

And can't ride myself again.

I'm reminded.
