Chakras, or energy wheels, connect to specific areas of the physical body, energy body, and emotional body. By paying attention to each one we can help shed light on areas that may be out of balance - such as related relationships, thoughts or beliefs. Our Root chakra correlates physically to the base of spine, and emotionally to our most basic needs - our home, our career that sustains us, and the relationships under those umbrellas. By strengthening our roots, we can let go of fear.

Welcome to my seven day chakra meditation series.

Let's begin.

Day one,

Root chakra,

Muladhara chakra.

Find a comfortable seated position.

Allow the spine to lengthen,

Lifting up through the crown of the head.

Begin to start softening the face,

Soften the jaw,

Relax the throat,

Relax the shoulders,

The belly,

The breath.

Turn your awareness for a moment to the tip of the nose and just begin to observe how the air travels in and out.

Taking a moment to pay attention to your life force,

The quality of the breath without judgment,

Just observing.

Let the awareness move down the spine all the way to the base,

To your root chakra.

Notice how you are now seated on the floor,

On your mat or your cushion,

Bringing awareness to that sense of grounding,

That feeling of being rooted down,

Of being supported also by the earth beneath you.

By activating and stimulating this chakra,

We invite stability and we release fear.

We invite security and we release doubt.

Perhaps imagining a bright red swirling light glowing in that space,

Its dimensions expanding with every inhale,

Contracting with every breath.

Breathing with every inhale,

Contracting with every exhale.

Repeating a few affirmations with every inhale,

Silently saying the words,

I am,

And with every exhale saying grounded.

As you inhale,

Say,

I am.

As you exhale,

Saying safe and secure.

Inhaling,

I am.

Exhale,

Connected to the earth.

Repeating these a couple more times,

Grounded,

Safe,

Connected.

Thank you so much for joining.

Namaste.

Absolute grounding-ly peaceful! In the Albany, NY Times Union newspaper media center (Hearst Media Center) its quite hectic, even if i was there just last night when workers had gone home. A nice, quiet + serene place to go for peace of mind! I cant wait to listen to the rest of your meditations at the end of each day! Namaste.
