Hey there,
My name is Dina.
Thank you so much for joining this meditation.
Our focus today is going to be centered around creating space for our self-worth and self-esteem.
If you're like me and you tend to be a constant doer and a constant planner and a constant thinker,
Then you'll know that it's hard to sit into the stillness of what is because you feel the need to create and fill your time with doing.
Somewhere along the line we've been taught to believe that doing and achieving and climbing and elevating ourselves,
Maybe in our careers or our relationships,
Has a correlation to our value as a being,
As a human,
As a partner,
As an employee,
As a daughter,
As a son.
What we know for sure is that as we peel away those layers of conditioning,
We come into the root of ourselves,
Our purest,
Highest selves that requires no accomplishments.
So let's go ahead and find our seat and sink into these thoughts of feeling enough.
Take your way into a comfortable position,
Sitting any way that feels most accessible to your body today.
Support the back,
Support the hips.
Make any final little adjustments and then make your way into a place of stillness with the crown of the head lengthening and lifting up towards the sky and the weight of your hips rooting you down a little deeper into the cushion,
The pillow,
Or into the earth.
Connect for a moment to the natural rhythm of your own breath,
Feeling the air as it travels in and out of the nostrils.
Feeling that deeper connection to your life force,
Your energy to anchor you into the present just a little more.
Can you allow yourself the moment,
The time,
And the space to sit,
To be with yourself as you are and do nothing at the same time?
Where does that thought land for you?
Just noticing.
Perhaps uncovering some of the perceptions that you may have about sitting and doing nothing.
Does it come comfortably to you?
Is there ease there?
Is there softness?
Or on the other side,
Is there anxiety?
Is there a worry?
Is there this need and this pull to get up and out of your seat in order to do something,
To make yourself busy?
Just noticing.
No judgment either way.
Being aware of where we stand as individuals.
Bringing your awareness now to your solar plexus,
To your abdomen about four or five fingers above your navel.
This is the center of our created identity,
Which has been perfectly molded,
Sharpened,
And honed over our entire lifetime.
This is what we attach to,
To create our sense of self-esteem and self-worth.
All the notions and the ideas that sit around who we believe we think we are.
Create limitations for us.
Create limitations of perhaps connecting to different possibilities.
What if we were not our career?
What if we were not our familial position in our household?
What if we were not our horoscope?
Then who would we be and how would we act?
Can we allow ourselves to drop away the temporary validation that arises from external factors?
For a long time we've been told that we are good if we do well at school,
If we excel in our careers,
If we excel in our romantic relationships,
And we've been deriving our value and esteem from there.
If all those things start to fall away and they might,
As life is temporary,
As life is in constant flowing,
Things coming and going,
Then what is left?
Can we sit deeply into the well of ourselves exactly as we are,
Knowing that we are already perfect,
Pure,
That our value is associated to just being,
Existing,
And sharing ourselves and our light with the world?
You don't need anything else.
You don't need anyone else.
You are strong.
You are light.
You are loved.
You are valued.
Slowly starting to deepen your breath and gently make your way back into your space and your body.
Taking a full breath in through the nose and a cleansing breath out through the mouth.
Gently opening the eyes.
Thank you all so very much for joining me today.
I hope you found this helpful.
Have a beautiful day.
Namaste.
