The practice of grounding is one of rooting and returning to your body,
Where you feel the connection of your mind,
Body,
And spirit.
This connection is one that can feel tenuous in certain moments or difficult to access when it feels like we are not attached to our body.
I invite you to follow my voice as we center ourselves and calm.
Allow your breath to deepen,
Moving in to the slower pace of intentional deep breathing.
Breathe in through your nose,
Allowing this breath to reach to the bottom of your stomach and then out through your mouth with an audible exhale.
Breathe in,
Hold at the top,
Breathe out.
Breathe in,
Hold at the top,
Breathe out.
Breathe in,
Hold at the top,
Breathe out.
Allow your breath to continue at a pace that is nourishing,
For it is this breath that is your first anchor,
Your connection to self.
This breath is peace.
Place both feet flat on the ground.
Imagine you are standing in a forest surrounded by trees with trunks that are wide and strong,
And branches that stretch so high they kiss the clouds.
The sun filters through the leaves,
Creating art in the spaces between light and shadow.
The air feels smooth on your skin,
And the fragrance of blooming flowers floats over to you,
Carried along with the light breeze.
You stand still in this place.
Now,
Imagine roots entering into the ground from the bottoms of your feet.
They travel deep into the earth,
Stretching in every direction.
These roots are powerful.
They move downwards with purpose as you become a part of the beauty that surrounds you.
You are bonded to this earth.
These roots anchor you into a secure space.
They connect you to the earth and allow you to feel safe,
Knowing that you are rooted in a space that is meant to nurture and steady you.
Breathe into your belly,
Allowing the oxygen to flow through you,
Reaching down into the tips of these roots.
As you breathe out,
Your breath carries the wisdom of the earth,
Carefully placed there with love.
As you continue to cycle oxygen through your roots,
Into your body,
And out,
You say to yourself,
I am safe.
I am secure.
I am here.
You are rooted,
And you can access this feeling whenever you need it.
Breathing sound grows higher.
