Good morning,
And welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name's Darius,
And I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Let's begin our practice by finding a nice,
Comfortable seat,
Allowing yourself to begin to settle in,
Slowly starting to take deeper breaths,
Giving yourself a chance to really arrive in this moment.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to close them now as we go inwards together in this slightly quieter,
More still place.
Let's bring our attention to our heart.
How is your heart this morning?
Maybe your heart is quiet.
Maybe your heart has a lot to say and share.
Let's bring some energy to our heart.
Let's breathe into our heart space now,
Taking a nice deep breath in,
Imagining your heart expanding in every direction,
Gently,
Lovingly,
Taking up more space and letting it go.
Staying with this idea of taking up more space,
Expanding,
Growing.
I want you to notice how your body is resting here.
Are your shoulders caving in?
Are you collapsing?
Are you small?
Is there a way to gently,
Lovingly get bigger?
Letting our spine expand and get gently taller.
Our chests opening,
Our lungs opening,
Our heart opening.
Our gaze straight ahead.
We are not afraid to look at what's in front of us.
We are not puffing up our chest,
But we are also not collapsing.
We are holding our sacred center.
We are holding our sacred center.
We choose to walk into every room as ourselves.
We choose to be our true self,
No matter who we meet,
No matter where we go.
We hold our sacred center.
No matter who we meet,
No matter where we go,
We hold our sacred center.
We let the world see who we really are.
We let the world see who we really are.
When we quiet our minds,
When we open our hearts,
We are able to access a more confident,
A more clear,
More present version of ourselves.
When we quiet our minds and we open our hearts,
We are able to access a more confident,
A more clear,
And more present version of ourselves.
Can you feel this version of yourself?
Even if it's 1% you can feel,
Stay connected to that 1%.
Stay present with it and it will slowly and surely begin to grow.
Begin to embody this more confident version of yourself.
How does this version sit?
How does this version breathe?
How does this version see the world?
And if you notice your breathing has got shallow,
You have permission to take up more space.
Allow your lungs to expand,
Allow your chest to expand,
Allow your heart to expand.
This confidence,
It's gentle.
It's not rushed,
It's not forced.
This more confident version of ourselves finds pleasure and joy in everything.
We are grounded.
We are calm.
We are clear.
We are here.
We are grounded.
We are calm.
We are clear.
And we are here.
We have one more song this morning and with your permission,
Before I play this song I'd like to guide us through a simple,
Short visualization.
I want you to imagine in front of you there is a pitcher of water and this pitcher of water is filled with a very special type of water.
This water is infused with confidence and it's not up to me to tell you whether or not you should be more confident today or how much more confident.
Dear artist,
That is entirely your decision.
Every day is different.
There are days I have no interest in being confident.
I just want to stay in bed and that's totally okay.
And there are other days I would love access to more confidence.
Take a look at this pitcher in front of you,
Sitting on a table and right next to it there is a big glass.
Before our last song begins,
I want you to tap into your intuition and decide how much,
If any amount,
You'd like to drink of this very special water.
And remember if your answer is,
I don't want any,
That's okay,
It's a very valid answer.
Remember you can come back to this meditation any time and if in this moment you are looking for more confidence,
Well,
You know what to do.
Bravo,
Dear artist,
Whatever decision you made,
Whether you drank several glasses or decided not to even touch the glass,
You made it to the end of this meditation and you trusted yourself,
You trusted your own intuition and you took a moment to feel into your heart and what's true for you today.
All of that is a big celebration in my books.
For those that are joining us live at the artist morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on our clock and allow us to do some private personal journaling and continue this exploration of what confidence means to us.
And of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on insight timer,
You can do the same with 20 minutes on your own clock,
Get your journal out and see what's here and ready to be expressed through you.
Thank you once again for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
