Good morning and welcome to the artist morning.
My name is Darius and this meditation is dedicated to those of you out there who have chosen to live with hope in your hearts.
This meditation is dedicated to those of you out there who care so much.
You care about your family and friends.
You care about the world.
You care even about strangers you meet.
I see you.
I see you with your gigantic heart.
I feel you.
I feel how much you care.
And I know that you truly do so much for the people around you.
My intention with this meditation is simply to thank you.
Even if I've never met you before,
What you do for the world,
What you do for your world,
No matter how big your world is,
It matters.
Now there's a chance you might be very resistant to receiving praise and gratitude and that might be because you have become accustomed to placing the attention and the consideration on others and that's okay.
But this intention and this meditation is for you.
Let's begin our meditation this morning.
Your eyes are open.
I invite you to close them now.
As we begin to go inwards together.
As we begin to carve out some space just for you.
Feeling your body.
Feeling your heart.
Feeling everything down.
Thank you,
Dear friend.
Thank you for choosing to live with your heart wide open.
Thank you for caring so deeply about those around you.
Thank you for all the many things you do that maybe possibly you never receive praise for or acknowledgement for.
Thank you for all the times you have lifted other people up.
All the times you have sacrificed for someone else.
Thank you for being the type of person who jumps in when someone is in need.
Thank you,
Dear friend.
I see you.
Sincerely,
Thank you.
What does it feel like to hear the words thank you?
Are you able to take it in?
Are you able to receive praise,
Gratitude,
And celebration for the person you have become,
The person you are,
The person you are becoming every day?
Let's take a deep breath together now.
Just feeling the love that exists inside you.
Just reflecting on the person you have become with your life,
A person who has chosen kindness,
A person who has chosen consideration,
A person who stands up for justice,
A person that is not perfect because nobody is,
A person that has made mistakes,
Perhaps a person who can forgive themselves,
That can forgive others.
Taking a moment in the silence here.
Taking a moment to remember that you don't need to say anything or do anything to be worthy of love.
What would your life be like if you were able to appreciate yourself just a little bit more a little bit more?
I ask myself this question all the time.
Sometimes it's really easy for me to support and celebrate and lift up other people.
For whatever reason,
It's more difficult for me to do that for myself.
I don't think this is because I'm broken.
I think maybe there's something about the human experience that takes us down that path of self-criticism.
Maybe you can relate.
Maybe like me,
It can be easier sometimes to be kind to others.
I'll ask you again,
What would your life be like if you were able to be just as kind to yourself?
Just as supportive to yourself?
There's anything you'd like to say to yourself,
To your heart,
To your human.
I'm going to stay quiet for the remainder of the meditation and just let you guys have some time together.
No one else?
