Today on Struck Inside Out,
A meditation on little joys and gratitude.
Close your eyes,
Take a deep breath,
And let your body settle into this moment.
Notice the small things around you,
The way your feet touch the floor,
How the floor is steady and grounding you.
If there's a blanket on you,
Notice the soft weight of the blanket on your shoulders.
If you're sitting on a bed or a couch,
Just notice the soft cushion underneath you.
Pause here for a moment and feel these sensations.
Think of the tiny sparks of joy that you felt recently,
A laugh you shared,
A kind word,
A moment that made you smile without thinking.
Let yourself linger on those moments,
And let them fill you for just a second.
And now bring your attention to your senses,
The sounds around you,
The hum of life continuing walls,
The light falling into the room,
The way it touches something familiar,
The taste lingering from a morning cup of coffee or a sweet treat,
Or water that feels cool and clear.
Notice the people who have shown up for you in both big and small ways.
The friend who sent a message,
The stranger who smiled,
The person who listened when you needed it most.
Let gratitude rise for those connections,
And let it fill your chest and your heart.
Remember that joy is not always loud,
It's often soft and hidden in plain sight.
A flutter in your chest when you notice a flower,
A bird,
A moment of stillness,
A spark when you remember something that makes you laugh,
A pause that reminds you that life is generous even if it is just in small doses.
Now bring your attention inward.
Notice your own presence,
Your breath,
Your heartbeat.
There is life moving through you,
Life that notices,
That feels,
That loves.
Even when you forget,
Even when it seems ordinary,
It is extraordinary.
Take another deep breath.
Let yourself feel the gratitude for these little gifts.
Let it wash over you.
Let it remind you that you are alive,
That life is here for you to experience.
Let these small moments be enough.
Let them guide you through your day.
And whenever you're ready,
You can slowly open your eyes,
Carrying these sparks with you.
Notice them,
Celebrate them,
And give thanks for them.
And remember,
It is always the little things that make life feel full.
