Hello and welcome,

My name's Daisy and I'm going to be your guide for the next 7 minutes as together we create peace and release any negative thoughts that do not serve us.

Remember there's no right or wrong way to meditate,

So just take a few moments to get comfy and then we'll begin.

Whether you want to be sitting cross-legged on the floor or upright in a chair,

Your shoulders are down and relaxed and your palms are facing upwards resting in your lap.

Gently close down your eyes and settle into your body.

I want to take a second to acknowledge you for taking this time to honour your mind,

Body and soul,

It's the small things we do every day that make the world of difference.

Together let's take in a deep breath in through your nose,

Fill your belly,

Hold the breath at the top and slowly release it out.

Inhale,

Notice your chest rise and expand,

Gently holding the breath at the top and slowly releasing it out through your mouth.

Again in through your nose,

Fill your belly,

Chest,

Expand your heart,

Then slowly releasing all the air out as you relax your body into the earth,

Taking a moment to focus on your breath as we begin to breathe in and out through our nose.

As you inhale can you broaden your collarbones,

Feel that open your heart,

Breathing new air into that space and slowly releasing out.

Can you feel a calming sensation wash over your body as you continue to focus on your breath,

Inviting this calm.

Your breath has always and will always be here for you,

Throughout this meditation if you feel your mind become busy or start to wander,

Gently come back to your breath,

Focusing on its rise and fall.

Thoughts are part of meditation,

They will come up,

But don't worry,

You're doing well,

Just continue to quietly sit and breathe.

Like a gentle ocean wave,

Thoughts will come and go,

There's no need to run off with them,

Just simply notice them,

Let them go and come back to your breath.

Now imagining a trap door at the very top of your head,

As it opens imagine all your unnecessary thoughts flying out,

Like sticky knots unstuck and blowing out by the gentle breeze.

As you continue to breathe,

Imagining the thoughts swirling round and exiting out the crown of your head,

Breathing fresh air around your mind to flush out any sneaky ones left behind.

As you gently close the trap door,

Relax your body even more,

Releasing your shoulders down your back,

Releasing the hold of your belly and softening into the earth.

Now I want you to notice the calm and positive feelings you have created,

Remember that you have the power to create those feelings whenever you like,

They are always available to you.

Gently wriggling your fingers and toes,

Taking another deep breath in,

Connecting to that feeling,

Slowly releasing the air,

Taking a few moments to tune back in one last time,

Then when you're ready,

Slowly opening your eyes.

Thank you for this meditation. It was exactly what I needed before my morning journaling.
