We have not been taught to take rest during our periods, while the natural state of our bodies during this time is going into a withdrawn state of human hibernation. Or as I call it: a period retreat. This meditation helps you to look at your menstruating body with loving kindness, to surrender and to allow your cyclical body to be in a state of complete rest and relaxation. Being calm and allowing our body to experience the process of menstruation from a peaceful state, helps ease menstrual symptoms like cramps, backache and headaches, as we allow our nervous system to fully calm down.
