Regardless of how observant we try to be,
There is always at least one tree that we have failed to notice as we go about our way.
That same tree is probably unnoticed by many others as well.
Yet,
Without supervision,
Encouragement,
Or approval,
The unnoticed tree continues to grow through all seasons,
In times of darkness and light.
The tree continues to stand in strength,
Offering shade and shelter,
Asking nothing in return.
The tree both endures and thrives,
Not relying upon anyone to assign value to it.
Beyond all else,
The unnoticed tree remains steadfast.
In all of this,
The tree shows us that a purpose is not dependent upon approval or recognition.
With or without being noticed,
The tree continues on.
If it were to stop doing so,
Only then might we finally begin to pay attention to it.
In all of this,
The unnoticed tree invites us to stay strong,
Regardless of what is going on around us.
To be there for ourselves,
So that we may be strong enough to,
In turn,
Be there for those around us.
To not require,
Or long for,
Attention,
But to smile within,
Whenever it is given.
It shows that there is strength in stillness,
Growth in silence.
Moreover,
The tree invites us to be aware of others as they stand in strength,
As much as we do when they are experiencing times of difficulty,
Or completely absent.
So the next time you pause and look up to discover the tree that has been there all along,
Perhaps you will take another pause and realize that this tree's message has been there all along as well.
The crow flies from me to thee,
To send the message,
Blessed be.
