Into bed.
Settle down.
And listen to a story.
With Corey.
And Leo were going to the movies.
They weren't going with anyone but themselves.
They were on a Tucker and Leo date.
Tucker was very excited about the popcorn.
Leo was not.
Leo said.
You know I can't eat popcorn.
It brings me out in hives.
But.
.
.
We can maybe take some dog treats and sneak them in in my backpack.
Toka said,
Oh,
Leo,
That's really naughty.
That's really naughty,
Leo.
Leo said.
Sometimes you have to live on the edge.
Tucker said,
Leo,
I'm surprised that's not going to bring you out in hives.
My goodness gracious me,
That's very dangerous.
What if they check your bag?
Leo,
What if they.
.
.
What if we get taken into a back room and a police bloody man comes and he takes.
.
.
Prince and and and he makes us stand in front of One of those walls,
Where'd he take your picture?
And you'll like this.
Because it always makes you take the picture when you're surprised or shocked or You're scared.
Have you noticed that Leo?
Everybody under mug shots always looks very weird.
Leoside We're not going to get arrested for me taking a few bacon scrap dog treats into the movies.
Don't be silly.
Toka said,
When was the last time you had popcorn,
Leo?
When was the last time,
Because,
You know.
.
.
I'm betting 100 million trillion billion hundred popcorn pornicles.
Ponycles?
Are they ponycles?
Leo said.
Popcorn.
Popcorn.
Particles.
Tucker said no doesn't sound right.
Popcorn.
Bitcoin.
Oh,
I don't know,
Toka said,
But I'm betting 100 million trillion billion.
Gazillion of those that You're not allergic to popcorn anymore.
You know why I think you're not going to be allergic to popcorn anymore,
Leo?
Do you know why?
Leo said.
No.
Tooker said.
Because you've been so brave.
You've been so brave lately,
Leo.
You've been trying new things.
We've been going to the dog park and you've not got hives.
We've been going on walks with friends and you didn't get hives.
We have been practically doing really scary things like.
.
.
Floch.
Flush mobs.
FLUSH MOPS Leo said,
Flash mob dancing?
Yes,
Leo,
We did that.
We've done so many different things and you did not get hives.
I bet you any money.
You can eat popcorn.
Puppycon,
Here we come.
Taka and Leo.
Got drove to the movies by their mum and dad.
But then their mum and dad let them out because they were old enough to go on their own.
And they were very excited.
They got to stand in line on their own.
No kids to help them.
They got to buy their ticket on their own.
Bearing in mind they used the ticket machine,
They didn't go and talk to some random stranger that might not understand them.
They went inside by themselves.
They both peed outside behind the movie theatre before they went in.
They did very good at remembering that they needed to go potty before they went into the movies.
Because if you get into the movies and you get super comfortable and all the lights go out,
You can bet 100 again million kernels.
100 million trillion popcorn kernels.
That.
You're going to need to pee.
Right?
And then you have to go through all everybody's legs.
Oh,
I trip up.
Stand on the feet.
Get embarrassed.
Excuse me.
And then when you go to the P station,
Sometimes you lose your way on the way back and you can't find your seat.
Oh,
It's very stressful.
So Tucker and Leo were very smart and they went pee outside before they went into the movies,
Which is very,
Very important.
When they got into the movies,
You know,
Guess what?
They were all watching.
Can you guess?
It has dogs in it.
And a very,
Very famous spaghetti scene.
Do you remember?
Yes.
That's it,
You genius.
They were watching Lady and the Tramp.
At the movie theatre.
When they stood in line for the popcorn,
Which took them forever,
By the way,
Because it was a very busy time slot that they picked and it was a very long line.
They ordered the biggest bin of popcorn with fresh melted butter all over it and salt.
The best way to have it,
Apparently.
Said Toka.
And then when they got inside,
Tucker passed Leo the popcorn and Leo sniffed it.
By golly,
Did it smell good.
So good.
Then Leo tasted it.
And then Leo waited.
Patiently.
In between.
He had a piece of his bacon.
His snacks that he snuck in and no one found on him.
It is backpacked.
They didn't check the backpacks They didn't x-ray them.
They didn't get arrested and they didn't have to have the paw prints taken.
And they didn't get manhandled in a back room.
And got scared.
And had to have their photos took like this.
They don't have any of that happen.
Which was very good.
Leo waited and waited and waited.
For about 20 minutes.
Normally takes about 20 minutes for him to have some kind of reaction to the food.
You know,
Like a.
.
.
Scratchy throat.
Maybe a little itchy,
Bitchy,
Kind of witchy.
Feeling in his ears or in his nose.
Just something weird.
Absolutely nothing.
Leo said.
I think I can enjoy that popcorn with you.
And Tucker said,
You best hurry up,
Leo,
Because there's not that much left.
Because in that 20 minutes,
Tucker had been woofing the popcorn.
Literally woofing it.
But then,
Leo said,
We get free refills.
Toka said.
And woofed it even more and even more.
And they both woofed the popcorn.
They had three giant tubs of popcorn.
And on their way back.
With the popcorn,
They didn't get lost.
They found each other in their seats.
They took turns to go get refills.
Leo,
When he went,
Was very nervous.
He was worried that he was going to go back into the wrong,
You know,
The wrong.
Movie theater because there was 10 different movie theaters with 10 different movies playing.
Can you believe how big that building is?
Anyway.
The whole time they didn't see one single friend or person that they knew.
Which was very strange.
Because she would think with all of those movies playing and the place being so packed and it being a small town.
Someone would have been in there.
They watched the entire movie.
They had a really good time.
They enjoyed themselves.
They felt really proud of themselves when they got out because they'd done it by themselves with no friend's help.
Your parents helped.
No helps.
No helpsies.
No helpsies at all.
All alone.
They were old enough and capable.
And they knew all the rules.
And they've been taught really well.
And it was time for them to show that they could.
Be kind of grown up.
And they did well.
And when they did well.
Mom and dad saw that they did well.
And that meant.
.
.
Mom and Dad.
Would probably let them go again.
Because they did so good.
How it works.
That's how it works.
You show them.
You show mom and dad that you're capable and mom and dad.
Give you a little bit more wiggle room.
And as you grow up.
And you show them that you know.
They show you that they trust you.
And to give you a little bit more room.
Tucker and Leo.
They're growing up.
I'm sure you are too.
Time for you to go to sleep.
I hope you enjoyed the story.
I love you very much.
Namaste,
My little friend.
