Are you ready to meditate with Kari?
Make sure that you're very,
Very comfortable in your bed so that you can relax your body,
Let go of your days so far and just melt into the sheets as you enjoy your meditation story.
Tucker and Leo were racking their brains.
They wanted to make Mother's Day this year very special.
Tucker was very enthusiastic as normal and Leo was his normal,
Kind of quiet,
You know,
More reserved self.
Leo said,
We should definitely make her a card and put our paw prints on it.
Tucker said,
Oh,
That's a good idea.
You know,
You know,
I've been thinking,
Right,
I've been thinking that if we do do our paw prints,
We could probably run outside because it's been raining for a few days and it's really dirty outside and we could make paw prints with mud.
Leo said,
I don't think Mum will be very happy with that.
Mud all over the house,
Tucker.
Oh,
Yeah,
You're right there.
No,
That's not a very nice gift for Mother's Day.
Mummy having to sweep up and then mop everything.
She has to do that enough,
You know,
Because I don't know about you,
Leo,
But I'm quite messy when I go to the toilet and sometimes I step on things that aren't quite pleasant and then I come running in the house and I'm so happy.
And then before you know it,
Mum shouting,
Ah,
Tucker,
Get back outside.
And I'm like,
What Mum,
What's wrong?
And then I look around and I think,
Oh,
No,
And there's poop everywhere because I stood in some poop or I got poop on my foot or I don't know what it is.
And I'm just a bit clumsy like that.
Leo said,
Yeah,
Quite a lot,
Tucker.
Tucker said,
Well,
Not not every day,
But sometimes.
Well,
Actually,
Yeah,
Quite a lot.
I do do that.
I don't know what it is.
I'm just not very careful where I step.
So yes,
That may not be a very good idea because the last thing Mum needs all over the kitchen floor is pee or poop or or mud.
So maybe we should do our paw prints in paint.
Do you have any paint,
Leo?
Leo said,
We could probably use some of Ellie's paint.
I know she's got a tub of red paint and red paw prints are kind of like red love hearts.
And I think Mum would like that.
But I'm not sure if I'm allergic to red paint because sometimes things like that really do bring my hives out.
Tucker said,
I know what you can do.
You can just dip like one little toe in it first,
One little toe,
And then we'll see if it swells or itches or if it like goes,
Oh,
Like,
You know,
Like it was if it had a voice and it goes,
Oh,
Oh,
I don't like that.
And then I'll listen very quietly.
Leo interrupted and said,
My feet don't talk.
Oh,
Well,
Yeah,
I suppose so.
Anyway,
So we'll do painted paw print pictures for Mummy.
What else should we do?
I had a really good idea.
I think we should try and make a bed for her.
Leo said,
Have you ever made a bed?
I can't make beds.
I definitely can't make beds.
Bedrooms are too dusty.
You know,
If you make a bed and the dust flies all over the place,
I'm definitely going to start sneezing and I'm definitely going to get things up my nose.
And you know,
I can't go upstairs because it's all wooden floors and they really scare me.
Oh,
Yeah,
That's right.
I forgot about that.
How about this then?
How about when Mummy sits down on the sofa on Mother's Day,
We use our mouths and we get one of those nice,
Soft,
Fluffy blankets that she has over there in her basket and we pull it together across the room and then we put the blanket on Mummy and then we use our teeth and we pull the blanket up and then I can pass her the remote because you know,
Sometimes I like to chew on the remote.
Sometimes I actually pretend it's a chocolate bar and I know I'm not supposed to eat chocolate,
But it looks a bit like a chocolate bar because it's dark like a chocolate bar and then I go,
Oh,
Yum,
Yum,
Yum.
And then I start chewing on it and then Mummy goes,
No,
Tucker.
And then I go,
Oh,
Yeah,
That's right.
That's a remote.
I'm not supposed to eat that.
Leo was just looking at Tucker,
Wondering how his brain works.
Leo thought it was quite fascinating actually,
How a dog like Tucker can actually think the way that he thinks.
It's like Tucker lives in his own world,
A world where eating puppies and eating remotes and eating rabbits or anything else that moves that's little are eating actually anything because you know,
Tucker eats anything.
Leo was wondering how free it must feel to be able to eat anything because in Leo's world,
He can barely eat anything.
He has to be so careful with all his allergies.
You get a different dog food or a different dog bone and Leo might have a flare up.
He was a little bit jealous of Tucker,
Envious in a good way of the fact that Tucker was just so free and bouncy and happy all the time.
Like he didn't have that many brain cells,
Really.
The less your brain has cells,
Leo thought,
Maybe the happier you are.
Hmm.
And then Tucker started on again about something else.
You know,
What else we could do?
We could possibly stop licking out of the toilet bowl because,
You know,
Sometimes when I lick and drink out of the toilet bowl,
I have like splashes all over and I've heard mummy say when she sits down on the toilet seat,
How come this toilet seat so wet?
And then I think to myself,
Oh,
That was probably me being a splashy drinker.
I'm a very splashy drinker.
So maybe,
Maybe I can somehow tell mummy that she needs to put more water in that bowl on the back garden because she always forgets and then she forgets and then you know what happens next?
I'm eating.
No,
I'm not eat.
Oh,
I don't know.
I wouldn't put that past me.
I might eat out of the toilet if it was something yummy in there,
But no,
No,
I'm talking about drinking.
I drink out of the toilet quite a lot.
So I'm thinking for Mother's Day,
I can somehow let mummy know that I'm never again going to splashy drink and splash toilet water all over the toilet seat.
And then when she sits down,
She has a wet bum.
Sure,
No,
That'd be a nice Mother's Day gift.
Don't you think,
Leo?
Leo said,
Actually,
Yes,
You probably really appreciate that.
Think I would if I had to sit on the toilet.
Daddy doesn't care.
No,
Because he stands up.
Yeah,
He's kind of like us.
But no,
Mummy has to sit down and yes,
She has to sit on a wet toilet seat sometimes.
OK,
And then and then I was also thinking that maybe I could stop trying to bounce and push my way outside every time she opens the door.
But how do I tell her,
Mummy,
For Mother's Day,
I'm not going to push and bounce and knock you over trying to get out to the front door so I can eat the mailman or the Amazon delivery man or a neighbour.
I do like to like just try and bound and push my way through the gaps.
And then I say,
Let me out in my language.
And mummy always goes,
Tucker,
Get back my door,
My door.
And I always go,
No,
It's not.
It's my door.
But she doesn't understand what I'm saying.
Anyway,
Yeah,
I could do that.
I could do that for Mother's Day.
Leo said,
Maybe we could get some flowers.
Jerry across the street has really nice flowers in his garden.
Do you think you could buy some flowers,
Tucker?
Because I know if I buy them,
I might be a little bit allergic to the juice that runs out of the flowers and I don't want to risk it.
Yeah,
I think I could.
I like them yellow ones.
You know,
The yellow ones that look really jolly and happy and they look like little little sprigs of sunshine in the grass.
I like those ones.
So if I bound my way out the next time mummy gets an Amazon delivery,
Then what I can do is just run across the street to Jerry's garden and I'll buy a couple of those yellow ones and bring them back.
But she'll know because then I have to get back in the house and then me.
That means I have to run past her and she'll be stood there going,
Tucker,
Bad dog,
Tucker,
My door,
Tucker.
And I'll be like,
Oh,
Sorry,
Mummy.
And they'll just kind of slinky my way through and past her.
How am I going to hide the yellow flowers in my mouth,
Leo?
Leo said,
Yeah,
That's right.
That might not be possible.
How about if we do paw prints on a piece of paper in yellow and then we somehow figure out how we can draw green stems as if they're flowers?
Oh,
That's a brilliant idea,
Leo.
You're so smart.
Yes,
That's a really good idea.
We'll do that instead.
And then maybe Jerry won't get mad because I've stole some of his yellow flowers.
It was very nice of Leo and Tucker to try and do nice things for Mother's Day.
Leo and Tucker's mummy loved them very much.
And she just recently got them new bones,
Chewy bones,
And they were playing with them all the time and they were very,
Very happy because they had something to chew on all day.
Tucker liked them that much that he'd not even been thinking about chewing on puppies or slippers or anything he's not supposed to chew on.
He was just chewing on his chewy bones.
To be nice for them to be able to do something nice for Mummy just to say thank you.
Sometimes mummies only want to thank you just so that they know that you appreciate everything that they do for you.
That's all it takes sometimes.
Just to show a little bit of appreciation.
Tucker and Leo managed to do everything that they said they were going to do for Mother's Day.
And their mum was very pleased.
She was especially happy when they pulled the blanket over her and handed her the remote.
She totally got that.
She was very impressed.
All afternoon she watched Netflix and relaxed.
She put her pictures on the fridge,
Her paw print pictures.
She hung them on the fridge.
And all in all the dogs both agreed that it was a very successful Mother's Day.
Until next year when they try and do something else special for her.
The end.
