Are you ready to meditate with Kari?
Climb up into your bed,
Pull the covers up tight,
Snuggle down and get super comfortable.
For this meditation story our intention is to completely relax.
To let go of your busy day.
To let go of any worries or stresses.
To let go of anything that you are thinking about that you have to do tomorrow.
We are going to just try and relax our bodies and drift off into sweet sweet dreams.
First of all see if you can take a really big breath in for me.
Imagine you are breathing all the way down to your abdomen,
To your tummy.
And when you breathe in you manage to blow out your belly like a big balloon.
So you breathe in deep all the way down.
And when you breathe out let your tummy pull back towards your spine.
Let out all of the air in your balloon so it goes flat once again.
One more time.
A big deep breath.
Take your balloon belly,
Stick it all the way out and then breathe out and let the air out of your balloon.
You can relax your breathing now but try and keep your breathing slow and soft so that your body naturally starts to react.
And it relaxes because you are slowing everything down.
I want you to imagine,
Use your magical imagination and imagine that you are laying on the grass outside on a sunny day.
It's that nice kind of grass that's soft underneath your body.
It feels like a soft shaggy carpet and it's warm because the sun has been shining down on it all day long.
When you move your fingers and the palms of your hands down by your sides across the grass it feels just a little bit prickly underneath your fingers.
But mostly it just feels as if you're stroking a big shaggy rug or a soft teddy bear back and forth with your hands as if you're stroking the grass underneath your body.
When you look up at the sky it's a really good blue,
A bright blue,
It's a happy kind of color.
And there's big white fluffy clouds in the sky as if someone had just dropped big cotton balls from high up above and they were just floating there hanging in the sky.
Big soft dreamy white clouds that you could just fall into and they puff up all around you like big bags of flour or big giant marshmallows.
You like the clouds in the sky today.
It makes you feel happy inside.
You start to make the shape of snow angels even though there's no snow and you move your arms and your legs as if you're creating a grass angel underneath you.
Back and forward,
Up and down.
You can do it with your legs and your arms right now as you lay in bed if you want.
Open and closed,
Open and closed,
Open and closed.
And your very own bed angel.
And then you lay still once again as if you're laying on the grass just staring at the sky.
Then you look to your left and you look to your right you see lots and lots of flowers.
So many.
And then you realize you're laying in a flower field.
Wild flowers everywhere.
Pink,
Purple,
Red,
Green,
Yellow,
Violet.
All different colored flowers and it smells so nice.
Like someone sprayed your favorite perfume.
It smells like roses and violets and lilacs and lavender.
It smells like snowdrops and daffodils.
It smells divine.
The smell smells a little bit like cupcakes and cookies baking in the oven.
It smells like when you pour bubble bath in the bath and the steam and the heat and the bubbles mix together and you can smell it.
It smells like shampoo when you wash your hair in a warm hot shower.
The smell of the flowers smells good.
You take a big deep breath in and smell.
Do it as you lay in your bed.
Sniff really deep and imagine you can smell the flowers all around you.
You close your eyes and listen.
You can hear birds.
You can hear dogs way off in the background barking.
You can hear the rustle of the grass and the flowers as the wind blows through them.
You can hear your heartbeat if you listen really closely.
Be quiet and still and just listen.
It sounds like a clock on the wall beating.
Ba-bum,
Ba-bum,
Ba-bum.
Feels nice to feel and listen to your heart in your chest.
It makes you feel calm.
It's relaxing.
Just a gentle beat in the middle of your chest.
For some reason the beating of your heart makes you think about ants marching one by one,
One by one,
One by one,
Working hard to collect leaves and all different things.
You can see the ants in your mind if you think about it.
These friendly little ants marching along in front and behind of each other.
They are at work collecting what they need for their home.
Ba-bum,
Ba-bum,
Ba-bum,
Ba-bum,
Ba-bum.
The little feet going up and down.
And then that thought just disappears and you can smell the flowers once again.
It makes you wonder what it would be like to be a flower.
You start to imagine that your whole body is rooting into the ground.
Smell the back,
The back of your hair,
The back of your head,
The back of your back,
Your bum,
Your legs.
And then pop,
Pop,
Pop.
All these different flowers start to pop and grow out of you.
Roses and daisies and dandelions,
Bluebells,
Lavenders,
Lilacs,
Fox gloves,
Birds of paradise.
All different beautiful flowers start to grow from you as if you're just like the grass.
And they're swaying in the wind and as they move it looks like they're talking to each other.
Having tiny little conversations about how nourishing you are.
Your soil is so healthy and rich and the plants and the flowers look very,
Very happy.
And you just lay there all happy with yourself.
Like you've made the flowers grow.
Just from being the earth,
The grass,
The soil.
And of course don't forget the sun shining down from above.
You just disappear into the flower field.
Swaying in the wind.
Staring up at the sky with the big fluffy white marshmallow clouds.
But now you're staring up as if you're a flower.
Lots of flowers.
All swaying gently.
Chatting away as happy as can be in the flower field.
You close your eyes again and just relax into being so still underneath the flowers.
You're comfortable and grounded and safe.
Feels good to be a bed of flowers.
All happy and bright and colorful.
You sway in the wind.
Relaxing and warm inside.
And ever so often you take a big deep breath and smell the wonderful aromas all around you.
And this helps you to relax even more.
Until eventually you just fall fast asleep.
The end.
