This is a sweet, relaxing meditation for children of all ages to fall to sleep to. The butterflies are so healing and gentle. Adults are welcome to listen also, you never know, it may be exactly what they need aslo.

Are you ready to meditate with Kari?

Lay down and get comfortable.

Make sure that everything is just right in your room.

You're laying with your teddy or your stuffed animal or something that makes you feel comfortable and safe.

Maybe you're just snuggling your pillow or a pet.

Start by just taking a nice deep breath.

Breathe all the way down into your tummy.

See if you can hold your breath for a few seconds and then breathe out.

Imagine when you breathe out that you're allowing all of your body to start to relax.

So you breathe in,

Fill yourself with air all the way to the brim,

All the way to the top.

Hold it for a second and then breathe it all out as if you're a big balloon and all of the air is coming out till you're completely empty.

Now close your eyes if you can.

This is a relaxing meditation.

Something for you to focus on so that you can let go of your day.

Maybe try and empty your brain from all of the jumbled up thoughts and feelings and emotions.

You're going to go on just a relaxing journey to help your body become peaceful and quiet and your mind to just let go.

Stop worrying and completely relax.

Imagine that it's been a really long day.

Maybe today you've done lots of physical things,

Running or playing or exercise at school.

Maybe you're on a team and you've done soccer or rugby or football or netball,

Whatever it is.

But imagine even if you've had a quiet day,

Imagine you've had a really hard strenuous day and you're finally laying in bed and it feels so,

So nice.

The covers feel nice and soft.

Everything's quiet and peaceful in your room.

Imagine that your feet are saying to you,

Oh,

Thank goodness.

Now I can rest.

Now I can get heavy and sleepy and finally relax.

See if you can really focus on your feet and feel the sensations in your feet.

See if you can feel your feet literally getting heavier and heavier with every breath,

Relaxing deeper and deeper.

And you're allowing them to do so with your mind.

In your mind,

You're seeing your feet be very,

Very tired and very heavy and sleepy.

And it feels really nice to just lay still.

Allow your legs to get heavy and sleepy.

Imagine that your legs are saying,

Oh,

Thank goodness.

I can finally stop moving and running and walking.

It's time to just be still and relax.

Allow your body and your arms to get heavy.

Imagine your back softening and relaxing.

Your head is heavy in the pillow and it feels nice and soft.

Try and keep your eyes closed the whole time because now we're going to start to use our imagination.

Getting into that darkness with your eyes closed,

Imagine that rather than being in your bed,

You're actually laying outside.

You're laying on the grass.

There's trees all around you.

There's birds.

Sky is blue.

Imagine all these things in your mind.

Imagine that you're looking up at the sky and you can see the clouds and the birds.

You can see the tops of the trees in your mind.

What I really want you to be able to imagine,

Though,

Is imagine that all around you,

Flying everywhere,

Are the most beautiful blue butterflies you've ever seen.

Monarch butterflies,

Flying hundreds and hundreds of them.

You're laying on your back on the grass looking up,

Watching all of these butterflies just flying in the leaves of the trees,

Flying in the sky,

The bushes,

Landing on all of the beautiful flowers around you.

And they're so,

So pretty.

Sometimes they fly and they fly in coordination and it looks like waves of butterflies flying and making patterns in the sky.

So,

So many.

You're not scared of the butterflies.

In fact,

You feel very,

Very happy and privileged that you can lay here and just watch them.

They're not scared of you.

They're not flying away from you.

They're flying all around you.

If you listen really closely,

You might be able to hear their wings.

In your mind,

You think about what it would feel like if a butterfly landed on your hand.

Would it tickle?

Would it feel strange?

Then all of a sudden,

As if the butterflies know exactly what you're thinking,

One of them goes and lands on your hand right there on your first finger.

It just sits very calmly staring up at you,

Taking a break from the rest of the butterflies,

Having a rest just like you're resting.

It flaps its wings and its colors are so pretty and you can see all the different patterns and markings on its wings this close to you.

It looks like a sapphire,

Like a precious stone.

The blue is the most prettiest blue you've ever seen.

You can see its antennas.

You can see the tiny,

Tiny,

Tiny little fur on its body,

Its tiny feet,

And its face and its eyes and it looks as if it could possibly be smiling.

Its tiny feet on your skin feel like tickles.

It's the slightest touch,

Very gentle and soft.

In your mind you think about what it would feel like if a butterfly landed on your cheek and then,

Just like magic,

Very gently one of the monarch butterflies slowly rests itself on your left cheek.

You feel its tiny little feet tickling your skin like kisses,

Gentle kisses.

It's soft and it just sits very calmly as if to say hello.

Smiling little butterfly sitting on your cheek and then after a moment it flies back to the hundreds and hundreds of butterflies flying all around you.

You wonder what it would feel like for a butterfly to land on your nose.

Would it tickle just like it tickles everywhere else?

And then,

Just like magic,

The butterfly lands on your nose,

Feels like Eskimo kisses when you rub your nose on someone else's nose.

It's gentle and soft and it tickles right there on the tip of your nose.

And this close you can see the butterfly so clearly,

Everything about it.

It's so perfect.

Try not to breathe or move because you don't want to scare the butterfly away.

Then after a few moments it flies up and joins the rest of the butterflies.

You close your eyes and with your eyes closed you can still see all the hundreds and hundreds of beautiful blue monarch butterflies flying all around.

It's the most perfect sight.

Imagine them making those shapes in the sky as you start to drift off into a sweet,

Relaxing dream state.

You let your tummy relax.

All the muscles in your stomach soften.

Your ribs get heavy and relaxed.

The back of your neck feels very comfortable on your pillow.

So comfy.

But in your mind you keep thinking about the butterflies flying around the trees,

Flying through the sky or sitting next to you on the flowers looking so perfect and pretty.

Your forehead relaxes and the top of your scalp gets soft.

All the space around your eyes relaxes so your eyes get super,

Super closed and heavy.

Your cheeks,

Your jaw,

Your whole body is completely comfortable and safe and very,

Very relaxed.

💙Love the butterflies and they are really beautiful but not only are they beautiful butterflies but also BLUE beautiful butterflies, my favourite!
