We're going to Moonbow Forest.
We're going back there for something very special.
Stephanie was in the shower.
She'd had a very long day at school.
They got tests after tests after tests and she was very stressed and her body was wound up tight.
She discovered that she could use her imagination in the shower and pretend that not only the outside of her body was getting clean,
But when she showered,
She imagined the water was penetrating through her skin and washing away all of her worries and stresses on the inside.
She would imagine them flowing down and falling off her fingertips and landing in the base of the shower and washing away down the drain.
The water was warm and relaxing and it would land on the top of her head.
With her eyes closed,
She imagined the water washing all of the thoughts away that she didn't need.
All of her stress about school and tests and life,
Everything,
Would get washed away in the shower and she always felt better when she got out.
On this day,
She was doing just that.
She had her eyes closed and she'd just rinsed the shampoo out of her hair when she felt the familiar crackle.
As she opened her eyes,
Her vision crackled and she could see flashes,
Images very quickly of the forest there in Moonbow.
It had been a while since that very first time she went to Moonbow Forest.
That very first time where she met Luna,
Natalia and Tia.
She'd become very close friends with those unicorns.
She'd had many journeys at Moonbow Forest since that very first time that she entered.
Stephanie wears her magic earrings every day still to this day and she's almost 10 now.
It's been a long time since that very first time when she got the earrings for her eighth birthday.
She was staring into the crackle in the shower and the crackle got clearer and clearer and the curtain drew back and she could see very clearly that it was a beautiful day there.
The trees looked tall and strong and lush.
The green leaves were shimmering in the sunlight.
It looked very inviting.
Stephanie had found that when she was having a bad day,
She really enjoyed going to Moonbow Forest.
The place,
The energy,
Her experiences there always managed to make her feel better.
Being almost 10 can be stressful.
Lots of different things were happening in her life.
Her school was changing.
Her mind was changing.
Her body felt like it was changing.
Stephanie stared into the picture of the forest there in front of her,
Took two steps forward and found herself standing there in the midst of the trees.
The first thing that she noticed was that familiar,
Soft,
Warm,
Spongy grass underneath her feet.
It felt delicious.
She felt like she was home.
She loved this place.
There waiting for her was Luna.
Luna said,
Welcome back.
We have something very special planned for you today.
All of the unicorns can smell it in the air.
Something very magical is going to happen.
We wanted you to be here with us.
Stephanie said,
Thank you.
They rubbed their noses together in greeting and she gave Luna a kiss in the middle of her forehead.
Luna said,
Follow me.
I want to take you somewhere you've never seen before.
They walked together for quite some time.
The forest is covered in flowers,
Purple bluebells all over the base of the forest.
And the smell was so sweet.
She already felt better just being there.
She'd already forgot about all the tests and stress of school.
Here she just felt right.
They walked and walked and talked together for quite some time and she noticed that Luna was taking her down a completely different path.
Then they went down a hill and started to come up a hill.
And she noticed as they got higher and higher up the hill that there was a very unusual looking hill in front of them.
The hill wasn't covered in grass.
The hill was covered in frosting.
Strawberry flavored frosting.
Well,
That's what it looked like.
Stephanie started to walk faster.
She looked at Luna and said,
Is this hill what I think it is?
Luna smiled,
The biggest smile.
This is Cake Hill.
Oh my,
Said Stephanie as she started to run closer and closer to the strawberry looking frosting.
She turned back to Luna and said,
Can I taste it?
Luna said,
It's all yours.
Said Stephanie.
She reached forward and took just a little bit of the strawberry frosting on her finger and brought it up to her nose and sniffed it.
It smelt like fresh sweet strawberries.
She placed it in her mouth and closed her eyes.
It was the dreamiest,
Smoothest,
Sweetest frosting that she'd ever tasted.
She turned around and looked at Luna and said,
This is absolutely delicious.
Luna said,
You haven't seen anything yet.
Let's walk around the hill.
As they started to walk around the hill,
The hill changed.
Every five steps or so,
The color of the frosting changed.
At one point,
It changed into like a vanilla frosting,
Which of course you had to taste.
Then the next part was chocolate.
Then the next part was lemon.
Then the next part was cheesecake flavor.
Then the next part was toffee flavor.
Then the next part was mint flavor.
She kept walking around and around and walking faster and faster,
Tasting all these more delicious frostings.
Until she found herself back at the beginning with part of strawberry flavor.
Luna said,
Dig just a little bit deeper.
Wait till you taste the cake.
Stephanie's eyes got really big.
She did exactly what Luna said and tasted the cake.
It was light and fluffy and spongy and so,
So good.
So of course,
She had to try every single flavor.
They walked all around the base of Cake Hill,
The entire base of Cake Hill and tasted every single flavor.
She couldn't decide which one was her favorite.
They were all so good.
It was like cake heaven.
Is this what you brought me for?
She said to Luna.
This is the best ever.
No,
Wait till you see what happens in a few minutes.
And she lifted her nose and took a very big sniff as if she was sniffing the air around them.
It felt like the weather was changing.
Stephanie noticed a drop in the temperature,
Got just a little bit cooler and the sun went in.
And as the sun went in,
Gray clouds came over in the sky.
And then it sounded as if thunder.
There was a bright light like lightning struck in the sky.
And then the sound of a roaring thunder.
And then it started to rain.
She'd never been at Moonbow Forest when it rained before.
This was no ordinary rain.
She raised her head and closed her eyes and sniffed.
You wouldn't believe it.
It smelled like potato chips.
Then the potato chips started to land on her head.
They hit her face.
They landed on her shoulders.
She put her hands out and grabbed a hold of a couple that fell on her palms.
She looked at Luna and said,
No way.
Can I eat them?
Luna said.
They're all yours.
Stephanie tasted the potato chips.
They're salt and vinegar flavor.
She put her hands out and started to collect more and more and more.
That one was smoky bacon flavor.
This one's barbecue flavor.
Every chip that she tasted seemed to be a different flavor.
Oh,
This one's prawn cocktail.
Oh,
This one's beef flavor.
Oh,
She said,
This one is pickled onion flavor.
How many flavors do you think there are,
Luna?
Luna said,
That depends.
How many can you imagine?
Stephanie took up the challenge.
Every single chip that she tasted was a different flavor that she could think of.
Some of the flavors were quite strange.
Pickle gherkin flavor,
Smoked heron flavor,
Tuna flavor.
She had a very vivid imagination.
But it was amazing because every single flavor that she thought of in her mind actually became a reality.
The chips magically tasted exactly how she thought they were going to taste.
It was the bestest rain anyone in the whole world could imagine.
Can you imagine being standing in the rain and then all of a sudden they turn to potato chips and then all of a sudden the potato chips taste like whatever you want them to taste,
Like your favorite flavor?
How cool is this?
Stephanie thought.
By now,
She totally forgot about her stresses of school and life and her body and everything changing in the world.
She was completely in the moment,
Experiencing cake hill and potato chip rain and her bestest friend,
Luna.
She stayed at Moonbow Forest for quite some time until her body started to get tired and she knew it was time to come back.
She felt that familiar crackle in her vision and there in front of her she could see her bedroom and her beautiful soft bed waiting for her.
She took two steps forward and found herself laying on her bed in her comfy pajamas,
All snuggly and warm.
What an amazing day,
She thought.
She was so grateful for her magical earrings,
Grateful for Luna and all of her friends there in Moonbow Forest.
She loved her world,
A magical secret place.
She loved it,
The place where she could escape.
Stephanie fell to sleep before too long,
Didn't take very much at all.
She closed her eyes and started to dream.
She had the bestest dreams after any of her visits to Moonbow Forest and her bed always felt like it was candy floss.
A big fluffy ball of candy floss,
The softest bed in the world.
It smelled sweet and felt soft and cozy and safe.
She had the sweetest dreams.
Fast asleep.
