Are you ready to meditate with Kori?
Lay down as still and quiet as you possibly can.
I have a story to tell you.
It was a sunny day in England,
Which is quite unusual.
Penelope decided to go for a walk down to Moss Hill.
She put on a nice big warm jacket,
Grabbed a sandwich from the kitchen because you never know when you might get hungry.
She filled her pockets with treats for the ducks on the way.
And Hanuman was right there by her side.
There were still puddles all on the ground as normally it's quite rainy most days back home in England.
But today like I said was bright and sunny and it was a perfect day to walk down the lane.
The sun was warm but yet she still had her warm jacket on just in case it changed very quickly into a windy rainy cold day.
Penelope was smart like that.
Sometimes Hanuman would be in front as if he knew exactly where they were going and he'd lead the way.
And sometimes Penelope would lead the way and Hanuman would follow along very carefully keeping pace staying almost right by her side.
Moss Lane is very pretty.
It's green and lush and it feels special to just be there.
On this particular day Penelope remembered to bring along her magnifying glass.
She had it right there in her left pocket.
All the way down the lane she would stop and investigate.
Have a bite of a sandwich and stare into a leaf or stare onto a rock or stare up into the sky.
It was like a whole new world existed when she looked through her magnifying glass.
It was super fun and exciting.
Penelope got to the place where the chickens were.
The chickens were always hungry.
Always,
Always,
Always hungry.
And Penelope like I said remembered to get the chickens some treats.
She pulled out a handful of crumbs and threw them on the ground so that the chickens could peck at the crumbs.
And as they pecked they clucked and made noises and Penelope thought they were saying thank you Penelope.
Thank you Penelope.
We love crumbs.
Thank you so much Penelope.
She carried on walking down to a special place where she liked to sit by a rock.
When she got there she sat by the rock,
Took a big long look with her magnifying glass and looked really close.
And when you look really close you can see all the different colours of the grains and the sand and the rock as it's been formed together.
It looks very different through a magnifying glass.
She decided to take off her shoes and her socks and just feel the ground underneath her feet.
She walked around the rock in circles,
Singing and humming and dancing and playing.
There were still big puddles on the ground and she jumped in them barefoot and it felt delicious.
The water was cold and the earth underneath her toes was squishy and soft and sometimes when she jumped in the puddles it squished between her toes.
It was the perfect day in England.
A perfect day for a walk.
A perfect day to explore.
She took out her magnifying glass once again,
Sat down,
Had a bite of her sandwich,
And she started to stare at the moss on the ground.
You would not believe the treasures that were inside of moss.
And it looked like snowflakes when you looked close.
Every little part of the moss looked completely different,
Individual in its own way.
On the moss you could see little droplets of water and also tiny little creatures moving and scurrying around like they were living and doing their thing in their home and no one would ever know what they were there unless you were like Penelope and you had your magnifying glass.
The little creatures were busy collecting things and doing things and it was like they all knew their jobs and they all knew what to do and it was very fun to watch.
Penelope sat for the longest time.
She sat there long enough to feel like these little creatures living inside of the moss were becoming her friends.
She imagined that they were talking to her.
Hi Penelope.
Do you like the sun?
We love the sun.
We don't get much sun do we?
Said one of the tiny little creatures.
Penelope said,
No we don't.
That's why I'm wearing my big warm coat just in case it decides to get windy and rainy again.
Another little creature said,
Well we like it when it rains and we like it when it's wet because that makes the moss nice and green and healthy and nutrient full.
We love it when it's like that but yes we really do like the sun.
The sun makes everything seem brighter.
Penelope said,
Yes I agree and so does Annamen don't you?
Annamen said,
Yes.
Being a furless cat can be tricky sometimes.
It's always nice when it's warm but luckily Penelope looks after me and she makes sure I stay nice and warm.
It was like Penelope and Annamen,
Her sandwich,
Her magnifying glass,
The sun,
The rock,
The moss on the ground were all connected to each other having the bestest conversations ever.
It started to get cloudy and a little bit darker in the sky and Penelope felt the change in the temperature and so did Annamen.
Annamen started to shiver just a little bit.
It looked like the sun was gone for the day.
Penelope took a hold of Annamen and put him inside of her jacket right there on her heart.
She zipped up the front to keep him all nice and warm and snug and they sat and cuddled.
They cuddled for a long time and she kissed his head and stroked down his nose.
Before long,
Annamen was very comfortable,
Comfortable enough to fall to sleep.
Penelope finished all of her sandwich,
Said goodbye to her new friends that lived in the moss.
Her feet were nice and dry by now so she put her socks on and her shoes on and started to walk home.
She walked past the chickens and said goodbye to the chickens.
See you tomorrow chickens!
They all said goodbye Penelope,
See you tomorrow.
Thanks for the crumbs Penelope,
Shouted one of the chickens.
Annamen slept the whole walk home and then when they got inside of the house Penelope thought it would be such a shame to move him when he's all comfortable and warm and safe and snug.
Maybe I'll just sit here by the fire,
She thought.
Maybe me and Annamen can just lay down on this pillow,
This nice,
Soft pillow.
Penelope laid her head down and watched the flames of the fire.
Gold,
Orange,
Deep,
Rare,
Sometimes she saw purple and blue.
And the flames danced and as they danced she felt the warmth and she heard them talking back and forth.
She could hear the wood crackling and crackling as it burned and the flames sometimes got very high and then sometimes down as if they were dancing a magical dance.
Dancing in the puddles just like Penelope.
Feeling the earth underneath her feet.
Connecting to mama earth,
The animals,
The Mars and all of the good things in the world.
She watched the flames to the point where they started to mesmerize her and made her close her eyes.
Annamen had a very gentle purring snore as he laid on her chest.
Penelope started to relax.
It was nice to be warm and cuddly and snug inside,
To be safe in the house.
It was nice to lay and cuddle with Annamen and feel his heartbeat on her heart.
Her body got tired.
Her mind started to slow down.
All of the thoughts about her day drifted through her mind like waves of the ocean.
She would see them in her mind and then they would go poof and just disappear one by one until eventually Penelope's mind seemed to go blank.
And before you know it she was dreaming that she was one of the tiny little creatures that lived in the moss.
Her job was to collect tiny rocks and move them to make one big pile.
She did it all day long.
Picked up a rock,
Carried it all the way over to the other side of the moss and placed it in the pile.
One by one.
All day long.
Over and over.
Over and over.
She got sleepier and sleepier and sleepier.
Night night Penelope.
Sweet dreams my little friend.
Night night Penelope.
Night night Penelope.
Night night Penelope.
Night night Penelope.
Night night Penelope.
Night night Penelope.
Night night Penelope.
Night night Penelope.
