Make sure that you're lying down in a comfortable position.

If you prefer your meditation practice to be seated,

Go ahead and sit comfortably.

Close your eyes and go inside.

Allow the darkness to be a welcome space.

A place where you can be quiet,

Where you can reset and feed your spirit.

Breathe in your normal rhythm.

Allow your breath just to follow its own pattern.

To find its comfortable pace all by itself is no conscious effort in your part.

Now that your body is still,

Start to focus on the inside and listen.

Be aware of your heart beating in your chest.

Be aware of the presence of a slight pulse moving throughout your body.

Notice that there's a soft,

Dull pressure around your forehead,

Temples,

And top of your head.

If there's tension in your jaw,

Just move your jaw from side to side.

Open and close your mouth and release the tension.

Let your shoulders drop and soften on your next exhale.

Be still.

Bring your awareness to your feet.

Notice any sensations that you feel on the inside,

On the outside,

Where your feet are making contact with the earth,

The pressure that that forms.

Soften your legs.

Allow the presence of relaxation to start to flow through your body.

Imagine it's traveling through your veins.

Feed in every cell,

Every muscle.

The stillness on the outside of your being is creating this sense of peace on the inside.

You're safe.

Everything is good.

You can finally relax.

We all can recall a memory of wrapping a soft,

Warm,

Snuggly blanket around our body.

We all know what that feels like.

I'm sure we've all felt a physical hug at some point or another.

Someone's arms around you.

The feeling of being held.

Supported.

Even if we're alone in this present moment,

Or alone in our reality,

We can still create the energy of a warm,

Soft hug.

That same feeling that we get with a warm,

Comforting blanket.

Whichever is easiest for you,

Start to create in your reality right now,

Sensations of being hugged.

Either with a blanket or a person.

Imagine your clothes in your eyes.

Stepping forward.

Opening your arms.

Wrapping them around someone you care about.

Squeeze gently and bring them closer into your heart.

Into your chest.

Your abdomen.

Feel the solid strength,

Life force,

Love in the person you're hugging.

The warmth of their body.

Take a breath into it.

And relax completely into the hug.

Let your head fall on the shoulders.

Soften the muscles in your neck and your face.

Be hugged.

With a blanket wrapped around your body.

You can feel how soft it is.

How it caresses your skin.

Hugs around your shoulders,

Down your back.

It feels warm and comforting around your neck.

You feel cocooned and safe.

Completely at peace.

Exhale and let go of any tension.

Breathe out any stiffness in your body.

Just let it go.

Surrender into your hug or your blanket.

Allow yourself to be vulnerable and open.

This way you can fully receive the life and the love.

Leave the sadness inside of you that needs to be released.

Breathe it out.

Leave this anger inside of you that needs to be released.

Breathe it out.

Without the loneliness.

Feel yourself with the love that you are being surrounded by right now in this moment.

I found the teacher’s voice and background music soothing. I found this to be a very helpful meditation. I have indeed missed hugs. I appreciated that we first relaxed the body. I think this made it easier for me to visualize a loving hug. Four or five people came to mind. I narrowed it down to two. I felt seen by these people. I appreciated the prompts of body parts connecting. I appreciated the suggestion of what to release. Thank you for offering this comforting time. Will definitely bookmark. πŸ€—πŸ’›
